GPS Fix from Crypted

Ok here's another thing to think about:
after Dunc referred us to that GPS Fix from crypted which seems to work very well i had a short chat with Crypted on two questions: #1 what happens if he decides to drop support for his fix (taking down the servers), he replied he will maintain them as long as this fix is needed, e.g. within two years he reckons hard- and software will have evolved past the need for this patch. #2 was: what about the GPS1_CLEANUP_ENABLED line for Gingerbread? This is the interesting thing. He did not hear of this bug within GB before but went straight on to test it on 4 different devices since he never had switching issues reported or seen himself. He could not find a big difference for the switching (well, it might still be different on the HD2, we never know) but he found increased refresh-rates of incoming GPS Data and much increased battery drain! He reckons that the increased refresh rates cause the high battery drain.
So. Now we sit here thinking about whether to live with bad GPS on/off switching or with increased Battery drain. Is that the situation with which we are left?
I don't think so. At the moment i believe that the increased drain only occurs when GPS is switched on, so the drain is somewhat controllable. I for instance have GPS enabled in my car. There i have got a charger. So it doesn't matter.
But on the other hand: it could be different for others. I think it just is something Dan should investigate into and maybe alter the GPS setup. Talking to Crypted on this could help too. He seems to know a few things.

Here is his thread for looking up his work: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1262652

Hello people, I'm running v36 at the moment and I had allot of speed problems from time to time.
I don't know if it's possible but until now for like a hour its running super smooth again.
So for dan a question,, I deleted 07sdcardspeedfix and reboot the phone and after that my slowing down of the rom is gone until now.. It worked for me..
I hope this info can help you dan and others..

well what that means is your sd card is crap! That is why i have added the sd booster app so you guys can adjust the speed of the read and write till you find what works best for your sd card!
Thanks but the info dose not help me as i already no why you guys have the speed issues, its upto you guys to adjust the setup for your phones as it is impossible for me to make roms for every individual person!

Very good rom and this animation like me! I have guestion how to make Swap 128Mb what program use from this?

Please use the 4EXT Recovery. There is a guide in my signature where it tells you how to format your SD Card with the 4EXT Recovery. Take this guide. It will help you. Swap is the first thing to create when you choose "Partition SD Card" in 4EXT recovery i think. Or the third Item. Not sure. either before or after the EXT4 Partition is created the 4EXT Recovery will ask you for a Swap size. You can then choose the size or skip it....

I'm using mini tool partition for creating partitions.
I first create a primary FAT 32 partition
I then create a primary EXT4 partition.
When should I create the swap partition ?

Running for over 12 hours .. quite good, coming from a non sense ROM .. I must say this ROM has the WOW factor. Hats off to sense 3.5 and dansta and team. I'm not sure my setup is the most optimized one, because I haven't setup swap, neither I have 4ext recovery. I didn't yet felt the need for those, so a bit of happy with the current setup.

Just another Q?
While dialing or on a call, the disconnect physical button should disconnect right? But it doesn't by default, I couldn't find any option as well, any chance of somebody helping me out in finding the tweak or option. In traffic or on the move, I will like to avoid using the touch screen to disconnect.

I have a guide for using miniTool too in my signature. The order of setup is the most important. Make sure u do the FAT32 first, covering the FULL DISK. then create the EXT4 after reducing the Size of the FAT again.

I'd recommend this:
1: create FAT32 on full disk. Click apply.
2: Reduce the FAT32 size by 1024mb (for EXT4) plus 128 (for Swap) = 1152mb. Click apply.
3: create the EXT4. Click apply.
4: create the Swap. Click apply.

Do not do it in one move. Click apply after each step and use this Order of setup.

NOTE: the timely order is important, not so much the order you see in the graphical display of the partition tool.
NOTE 2: recent playing around has shown that the partition alignment is not good with MiniTool. Also not good with EASEUS. I am not sure how important this alignment is, yet the 4EXT recovery aligns the partitions better so i recommend using that method rather than external partition tools.

One more thing I have downloaded this "Recovery 7/172/7 for EU and US running an EXT Partition" and when I opened flash.cfg file there was config for 5/172/7 just wanted to report maybe some people didnt notice and flashed rom with this config and now they have some problems :)

I don't care/know why and no matter what : This seems works fine for me. I run SD Booster it shows the current cache is 2048 and I changed it to what it appear in the box 128. And it improved response of my old HD2 like a magic. Thanks Dan.:D

(P.S. I read the help file of SD Booster and it says Red: Cache size is too small
Yellow: Cache size is okay, byt could be bigger
Green: Cache size seems optimal
Magenta: Cache size seems to big
I am now with 1024)

Sneaky, just to balance your comments, I have never experienced problems with GPS and don't use the fix mentioned.

In addition to using IGO in my car with a charger, I also use my phone for when I am hillwalking (up to 8 hrs at a time) and the GPS is always on with the phone in standby until I need to check my position on a map. Bottom line is that I have never had high battery drain with GPS on permanently or GPS failures. :D

Hi all, I'm having some problems and would like some suggestions. I have flashed 3.5 and now 3.6 (twice). After flashing, I've experienced severe wakeup lag, several black screen of deaths, and extreme sluggishness. 3.4 seemed to work fine. I have also noticed that with 3.4, it restores my settings from the google backup function (ringtone, wallpaper, etc... ) and with 3.5 & 3.5 it does not.

I'm using an 8/175/8 CWM partition with Magldr. I have a 32MB swap, I know it's smaller than recommended, but that's what I did last time I updated my SD card.

Any help is appreciated. I'm not complaining, just looking for suggestions. Please no "works for me, you must be an idiot" replies, since I already know I'm an idiot. Thanks!

Okay so today I decided to bite the bullet and redo my sd card. Did a full format. Created a 1gb sd-ext, 256mb swap and 13.xx gb fat32 partition, all through cwm recovery. Copied the 3.6 file back to the sd and flashed. It's still not really much better. I'm seeing significant wakeup lag. I'm reinstalling 3.4 which works like a champ for me, but my concern is that I'll be unable to take advantage of updates past this unless I understand what the problem is. I just don't get it. I haven't, and have never had much of a reason on TBD roms to use SetCPU or the OCDaemon... so idk if that will help me. I'm willing to keep playing with it if someone wants to give me a few pointers of things to try. Thanks!

Recovery 7/172/7 for EU and US running an EXT Partition: TBD_4EXT_New_7_172_7.rar in Sneakyghost's MediaFire Folder
Recovery 7/277/7 for US only and without EXT Partition: TBD_4EXT_New_7_277_7.rar in Sneakyghost's MediaFire Folder
Note: The Recoveries are good for both releases!

    *PLEASE READ*
While it is great that people provide mirrors it would be cool to have means of tracking the download numbers. Sneakyghost can check figures on his own mirrors and the one from Patensas has public stats. Mirror 5 and 6 have not. So, downloads from the Main Site or the first 4 mirrors are preferred. Thank you.

    Rosie for themed rom!
i have just noticed i had put a older rosie in the themed rom so i have atached the right rosie replace the rosie in the parts 1 apps folder before flash or after install, just place in TBD folder on your sd card in the app.system folder and then go into the tweaks in settings and under the system option select the option to install2system and it will install the rosie! You may need to reboot for it to install correctly after that!

Marcs kernels will be added to the TBD folder later the versions 1.5 to the latest 1.8 not included in this rom!
Link for TBD folder is down the bottom!
