Just tried re-doing it, but nothing, the phone remains with the screen black and it gets hot after a while.
I'll try it next time I flash a Q rom though :) thanks!

imma just say it here too incase your gonna use chunchunmaru i'd heavily against it and it would be better to wait.

Chunchunmaru should work just fine but i am working on a new kernel which should hopefully soon be ready

installation trouble

trying to install this ROM. installation finishes with an error after only a few seconds.

"error applying update: 7 (errorcode: kInstallDeviceOpenError")

what am i doing wrong? twrp backups are NG as well.

installed TWRP offain - and now the install proceeds fine. but after completion, the phone still goes to recovery, not system.
and on the first boot after putting in the offain recovery i saw a scary error message "system destroyed."

edit: wrong slot, but now it at least booted hold on...
edit2: seems it booted. now i'm in business.

rejoicing too early. now i succeeded in getting superior on, but then i tried TWRP backup/restore, that fails every time, and left the phone with no radios (no wifi, no bluetooth, no 4g). wondering if factory reset will work bring 'em back.

currently no OS in slot A. slot B has superior with no radios.

TWRP got stuck on restoring system image, and only a hard reboot would get me out of there.

does TWRP work for you guys? i've come to rely on it on my previous phones, but on this one no jive...

Yes. No TWRP working at 100% for Daisy.
You will need to flash stock for firmware "correction" and then start again.
What was your firmware base before that happens?

On my side, I'm using latest offain TWRP, and restore boot partition many times with no problems...

Is it possible to set selinux to enforcing? Or the issue persists and it's still only permissive?

EDIT: Also, device goes to boot loop after trying to encrypt it. Any solution?

would you know where to find the stock firmware? i didn't yet google for it though, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. don't know what base i had before i tried superior. all i know the phone had android 9.

TWRP - do you back up only certain partitions? if so, which ones? i selected them all, maybe that was a mistake.

I think the mistake was rebooting while restoring.
I backup boot before flash a kernel.
To backup all, you need to select boot, system and data...

i had to reboot in the middle of restore - it had been stuck in the middle of restoring "system image" for 6 hours.
thanks for the pointer on what to back up.
would you know where i can find a flashable stock OS to get the radios on?

    Download the latest build and GApps
    Reboot to recovery
    Take Backup (Not Necessary)
    Format data
    Flash the latest build
    Flash TWRP installer
    Flash ForceEncryption disabler
    Change slot
    Reboot

    DIRTY FLASH :
    Same as clean flash, but don't format data!!!
    Note : GApps only has to be flashed once whereas Magisk is to be flashed every time you Dirty Flash the ROM.

    Ah, so you're decided to read all bugs, good :)

    -maybe more smaller bugs
    -device will turn on black screen for a second when FP unlock goes wrong
    -WiFi-Display broken
    -probably green photos when using WhatsApp camera
