Hello,

Thanks for this, there are a couple of changes in A12 that I was really interested.

I have installed the rom, seems to be working fine (only one day for now).
Things I have seen/found:
-The network monitor in the top bar does not work correctly (or stops working after some minutes).
-This may or may not be related to the rom, but copying files to the phone in transfer mode by USB was painfully slow.
-The most annoying for now: I am using google clock (as an alarm), and it is giving me an error/notification to "Get Google Play Services, Clock won't run without google Play services, which are missing from your device", which is definetely NOT true, as I have installed them several times already from Play Store.

I am using Magisk and the google apps someone suggested bitgapps.

The phone seems responsive and fluid.

Regards

EDIT: Ok, so I have been testing it a bit more and there are several apps that are in a state of "google play services are updating", all of them related to GPS/mapping.

Does anyone have the same issues? Could this be related to the google apps package?
Unfortunately in this estate the phone is unusable as there are some very critical apps affected.

EDIT2: I have formatted the phone and started from scratch a second time.
It now seems to be working. Maybe I installed the wrong version of GAPPS the first time?

Ok, so replying to myself:

I have reinstalled the phone again, the problems with the google play services are gone.
The file transfer from USB seems perfectly normal.
GPS applications work as expected.

I have only had the phone for a few hours, but it seems quite stable for now for daily usage.

The notification led is completely DEAD.
The network monitor still does not work.

Is anyone having issues with the led as well?

Regards

Hello,

Do we have to take any precautions before updating? Because of the encryption issues with the A12?

Do we need to remove the fingerprint and pin number before or we just apply it with sideload?

Regards

guys, relax - twrp works just fine, but you need version 3.6
From the page you are linking:
"This release has feature updates for Android 9 based devices compiled for TWRP and up to date support for Android 11"

"We hope the feature updates for Android 11 will quicken the release process for Android 12."

So again, I have no idea if it works or not, but it looks like it is not officially supported yet.

that's true, but sideloading will still work. no need to place everything on internal storage, reboot and decrypt userdata, when you can just sideload os+gapps. might not be ideal to some people's habits, but it does work fine.

As long as I don't need to do a full re-install everytime I update I am fine. Thanks

Project Treble
I have a question before installing this rom, I am on official LOS18, if I install the unofficial release will I lose the data or will my phone reset, also later on when there is an official release will the transition happen smoothly between official and unofficial release.

I installed los 19 to op5/64. I made google backup and then I installed los 19 to op5/128 and used the backup in phone setup to have all apps, data and settings from op5/64.

System storage in op5/64: 7GB

System storage in op5/128: 9.3GB

What can be causing the difference?

You will not loose you data, instead you are strongly suggested to wipe it yourself. I have seen it work without a wipe, but there's no guarantee.

See https://wiki.lineageos.org/signing_builds#using-a-script for the official way of switching from unofficial to official and other way around.

I found on xda this TWRP recovery that can decrypt LineageOS 19 if you have no lock screen set.

Here is the thread it came from

pleased to confirm that using twrp3.6.2_9-0 seems to auto-update using the latest nightly (19-20220621-NIGHTLY-dumpling) via system updater, without needing to dirty flash in twrp

and thus, business as usual apart from trying to do backups in twrp due to encryption remaining borked

    fingerprint remains functional for me

thanks to all concerned for making the process as easy as before
    2
I've dirty flashed over LOS 18.1 official (about 1 year since initially installed) by these steps:
    1. flash latest TWRP for OP5T (3.6.1-9) & reboot to Recovery
    2. backup via TWRP & copy to PC
    3. flash LOS 19.1
    4. (my setup) flash latest 64bit GApps (MindTheGapps 12.1)
    5. reboot to System (takes a bit longer)
    6. (my setup) install Magisk by the official documentation via boot.img patching & flash new boot.img - the documentation explains everything

Android seems to work. Apps seem to work. Magisk remembered all its settings and modules (like camera dotfix and the app hide list).
I'm pretty happy, so far =)

    EDIT:
    1. I'm also effected by the missing battery statistics bug, mentioned in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/12-1-official-lineageos-19-for-oneplus-5-5t.4353295/post-86942723
    2. Battery life seems a little worse than on 18.1, but that might be on me, playing too much with the "new" system.
    3. Flashing the current LOS update worked with TWRP (just cancel the pattern), but I lost magisk and need to redo all the magisk install steps
    2
i'm on the final auto upgrade version of lineage 18, and my trusty dumpling is equipped with twrp 3.5.1_9-0

is it possible to either dirty flash the next iteration using twrp, or even to delete the data and start anew with the lineage 19 zip from there?

is that a crazy idea? should i move on to lineage recovery (which is a mystery to me)?

i confess i am not keen to adopt lineage recovery because i have used twrp since days of yore, and feel at ease with the set up

    thanks for some knowledgeable comments
From 18, I upgraded TWRP to the latest compatible version using the TWRP app, then wiped system (kept data intact), and installed Lineage 19 + MindTheGapps. All worked perfectly, except that TWRP can't decrypt data any more, but that doesn't affect OTA updates, and it should come with a new version eventually.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github organization. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.
