Boeffla mentioned to me that the touch firmware is not for our device but for the OPPO as I made the same mistake in thinking it was for our phone.

I can confirm that it s only for the find 7 but opo team said on reddit that will fix the touch issues "somewhere next week"

Firmware might have worked for some but I'm convinced it's hardware with my device. I've given up on waiting for a them to try and figure out what the problem is so I ordered a replacement digitizer and screen today.

The new screen was waiting for me when I got back from Singapore but I had to acquire some tools. I hope to go ahead with the replacement in a week or two.
