I didn't have that problem. What I did was after the hiemdall I rebooted in recovery and installed those 2 files SEC and the 24... When I kept getting errors, I booted into recovery and factory reset then applied the same files but new downloads. I got all yellow script after that. No esig failure.

Finally got kitkat

I FINALLY GOT IT! The only reason it kept failing for me was because i removed bloatware in the past and that is the reason for this issue. I downloaded the system dump from this guys post and put all the bloatware back and used ADB shell to update in recovery and boom! Got it thank you community for helping :laugh::fingers-crossed:

Once updated to KitKat, can't go back, right? I tried and it fails in Odin.

I followed everything in this post to MJ5, then OTA to NB5, then used Kingo to root, then download the OTA KitKat from here, then do all those other stuff for KitKat, . Looks like Kingo made SuperSU part of system app, now it's always there even after factory reset. I don't have root which is fine, but I'm suspicious of what other things Kingo might have done.

Edit: okay, not that worried about Kingo, but I still cant go back to mj5 once on official kitkat. I had no prob doing this with NB5 and not using Kingo. Any ideas how to get back to mj5 now?

Do you know a good way to remove that so it's completely back to stock KitKat? I don't like altered system state, although there's nothing wrong right now. Currently shows no custom marks on boot or no custom on system information, and never tripped the counter yet.

you CAN go back to MJ5 yes, also, Kingo is fine for rooting, everyone else has used it and I haven't seen any major issues of any kind. It also worked for me as well.

I understand that the drakey alternate link is a mirror, however, you need all the other files. I was having difficulty with sec, AP and CP files. I get the same network error on all three. I was graciously provided and alternate link for the sec file, but still cannot get the other two.
