I'm honestly wondering why my wifi is not connecting like it should anymore.. Unfortunately I'm s-on and my reliable PC for my rooting activities took a **** and I won't be able to do a clean flash for some time (at least a week) until my surface pro arrives. I have wifix installed, and that helped a tad. But something else that weirded me out is that the wifi at my house is the only one affected. Other wifi spots connect instantaneously. Its not my router, all other devices connect perfectly to it. Any ideas for a fix besides a clean install?

Also, I've noticed a HUGE decline in activity and posts on this thread. Has there been a stable release since the 2012 one or something? I haven't had time to even touch rooting or look here since November....

It's your router. Others had the same problem and after a new router it was fine.

Yes friends, 10.1 has been out for awhile. I like jjlellybam and 10.1 killed my car dock home function (jelly bean bug) so I plugged away until I got everything working in 10. ... 10.1 is great and will solve many of your problems including the Mic issue. As I stated before, try a fresh install and test between app installs. Since focus has shifted to 10.1 I'm checking this thread occasionally and will t try to help anyone who chooses not to upgrade. My knowledge is limited but I have spent allot of time toiling with this Rom. I've had just about every problem and after banging my head against the wall for a time, solved them all. So if you're still having issues, it's probably your fault!

It is your router. Lots of people were having weird WiFi issues, everything worked fine but their EVO.

I'd be willing to bet you have AT&T UVERSE (I think that was the one) or a net gear router. If I remember correctly, those weren't working well with the EVO

If it works everywhere but at your home. Then by process of elimination I'd say it's your router.

I suggest changing your router's wireless channel. I have an HP TouchPad running CM10 and I've always had and issues with channels running at higher frequencies. Even on channel 5 - 2.432GHz (Default for most routers) I've had problems, especially with interference because of other routers.

Try setting your router to channel 1 - 2.412GHz and connecting with your EVO. This fixed the issues I had with my TouchPad.

--

Also, I have a quick question for everyone. Per my signature and the fact I've been an EVO LTE since a week after release, I personally have been "out of the game" for awhile now, especially when it comes to flashing custom ROMs on my phone. Back on the original EVO I always stuck to Sense ROMs because I enjoyed the stability of HTC built ROMs with custom features. I'm finally sick of Sense, especially since I only use the apps and not the launcher and I want to take the dive into CM as my daily driver.

I was wondering how stable CM10 (or 10.1) is on your EVOs versus Sense based roms. Random stutters and screen tearing is whatever, I'm worried about the device freezing or crashing, because I need my phone to work without me tweaking the heck out of it. (Minor tweaks are okay) I just don't have the time to be as flash happy as I use to. (Even though I'm S-Off, I'm just busy)

Also, yes I have to ask, how's the battery life? Better or worse than stock?

Try Decks2-25 build (10.1). I'm having zero issues with it. Very fast and battery life is great. Can't compare it to stock because its been ages since I ran Sense on my phone ;) . I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Bear in mind that any JB ROM is not going to be as stable as sense. We don't have JB kernel source yet.

Hopefully someone can help me..... I need it.

Yesterday I updated to the most recent nightly which I usually do about every 3 weeks or so. Everything went as usual with the update but when the phone booted up it never made it past the HTC screen. I haven't been able to fix it at all. I finally was able to restore the system from a older backup but ALL of the GOOGLE related stuff is missing or doesn't work (gmail, contacts, play, etc)

You know the newest nighties are 4.2.2(CM10.1) not 4.1.2? You may want a fresh start.

You probably flashed the wrong GAPPS. If you flash cm10.1 you have to flash GAPPS for 10.1 not the GAPPS 4.2 that are meant for cm10

I checked the nightlies and couldn't find a 2-25 build, did I miss something? I searched the 10.1 thread and came up with nothing. Forums got a few hits, but no download link.
I then found Captain_Throwback's post about a "cryptic message" and then found what I assume is the post, but there's no link... I checked all the posts from 2/25, but nada.
Wild goose chase. Kind of rubbed me the wrong way, especially since I'd rather not ask for the link, but I'm being forced to. So, as much as I hate to ask, does anyone have a link? - At least I tried, I guess.

UPDATE: thicklizard sent me the link. (Thanks!) I had found it before, the confusing part is that the upload date is 2/24, even though it was a 2/25 build. The Cryptic message was as I guessed, eX2, but I didn't know what/eX2. I checked IRC and it said eX2 as well, so I put two and two together with thicklizard's link (which is the full link) and the other links in IRC realized it was http://d-h.st. THAT was a giant waste of my time, geeze.

I assume the 2-25 build is more stable than some of the newer builds?

I will try this! Thank you!

I had no idea that HTC has yet to release the kernel source for 4.1.

I assumed the 4.1 kernel was out and the Jelly Bean everyone kept referring to was 4.2. I had to go to HTCdev and check for myself. Damn... That's why I posted in the CM10 thread and not the 10.1, because I figured the kernel source for 4.1 was out. Thanks for that, gives me more of an incentive to skip CM10 and go straight to 10.1.

ke 10.1 for a spin. If you miss any apps or functions, pm me. I've got my phon doing cartwheels. Spent alot of times testing apps to replace sense ones and can highly recomend some. If you're comfortable enough (if you're soff you probably are) I recommend thick lizards komodo kernel in conjuntion with kernel tuner app.

Ok yea ...... but my experience with sense roms, stock or otherwise, is not only battery/ memory/ purposefully broken multitasking, but also some real cpu temp problems that i've never had on any aosp rom. Stable? Nay says I.

you dont need to update radios, you all are noobs, what happened to the hardcore people i use to know. They want you to update the radio, on your device so you get a weaker signal, because everyone updates then if you stay on the old radio, noone is on it and your speeds are super fast, so dont update the radio, thats stupid

    This guy's goin' places...
