It's so super laggy. Previous evolution X version before android 13 was blazingly fast. It should be 'fixed' to be viable. Even video playback sometimes give artifacts.

Seems like (discussing with big devs) that there is a known problem (probably in kernel) right now about some weird freezes. It will be fixed soon, stay tuned!

P.S.2: The freezes are inside EVERY new rom build right now (doesnt matter if PE, EvoX or LOS)(probably everything builded after day 20 of December 2022)

No, charging is normal for me. The overall UI is laggy. Just read your reply above, the cause of the lag is the home screen.

About the freezes, heres the fix:

NOTE: if you have weird freezes, go in system/build.prop, remove the line "debug.hwui.use_buffer_age", save, reboot, solved.

By the way guys, i'm planning to wait February for another release.

The reasons for this are mainly 2:

1) Pixel launcher on Evox is having problems, so theyre switching to another. I want to wait, instead of giving you a laggy/bugged ROM
2) there are many news and fixes/addition to device tree, so i want to wait February for a nicely updated release.

Don't worry: i'm not abandoning the ROM. I just want to offer a good ROM instead of something half-broken

I'm looking at flashing this instead of my current one (IodeOS). Iode was great, but had some flaws that I just couldn't get by with (mainly the default of microG, I need google play for some things).

Couple of questions:

• How many stock google apps does this come with? I'd prefer to use things like qksms and things like that for those sorts of things, to get away from the google bloatware. I'd prefer to just have a rom without any of those by default, but if I need to manually remove them that's also fine - so long as I can completely remove them (not just clear app data and disable)
• When is the approximate release date of this febuary release? I will most definitely be rooting my phone, but I'm not sure how friendly it will be with updates. Best case scenario I just need to dirty flash the new zip, reflash the patched bootloader from fastboot and all will be well. Worst case I need to reinstall and restore apps using neobackup (which could be a pain).
• This question may not be within your skillset, but do you happen to know how to determine the device model? Iode only has a version for G8341, so in settings (and

  adb shell getprop | grep model

  ) show G8341.
  • Does it matter (functionally) which version I use, or is that the only difference - a different model variable (or prop, whatever you want to call it)?
  • Is there a way to determine which one my device actually is? I can't find anything really, apart from maybe IMEI - but I was only able to find some things about the network bands it could access:
    

I'm more than happy to wait a couple days to flash my phone, but I'd just like to have an approximate date before going forward.

Edit: Apparently it's mostly just difference bands that are enabled/fingerprint sensors and whatnot, I think I'll want the g8343 version (located in canada)

I had to return today an item payed 3 days ago with this very phone. Merchant cannot return payment. This pops up when opening the Wallet:

Got the same problem. A few days ago it was ok with Safetynet and now CTS failed. Latest magisk, plugins for USNF but still not working. I also changed fingerprint but it still doesn't work.
Any ideas?

1 - It comes with Mini Gapps (i could choose between full and mini, choose mini cause our device is not exactly new and no one wants full tbh). Trying to stay away from google bloatware using Android is like trying to stay away from Apple using an iPhone. No sense to me. Just use them, Google offers for free awesome services that no one else does

2 - +-30-40 days for each rom (excluding latest ones)

3 - it does, otherwise i wouldnt build different versions everytime. Flash Single SIM in your case if it shows that (its also for NFC, it will bug and stay always active draining battery if you flash wrong version)

just flash safetynet module with magisk and this, Paypal etc will work. Maybe for google pay you need another module too, probably something to change fingerprint of device.

That update nearly killed my phone, doesn't work at all...

Bootlooped to recovery and couldn't change build until I have formatted my data, not just wipe with twrp...Jesus!

I am back to 12 until 13 based build is safe and smooth.

Ah shoot. Same here. Clean installed ds_ds version ended up in bootloop too.
Oh and it ruined internal storage partition again too. Same thing happened when I first installed this ROM's first version.

Tried installing again after reformating internal partition (via Wipe - advanced - Format Data) - same result.
Switched to LOS 20.0 for now.

Yesterday an Wallet update was available on Play Store, after applied the alert is gone, I'll try to pay something with the phone today and I'll update here.

December EvoX ROM, clean install, no root.

After Google Wallet app update from Play Store, the security alert is gone and payments works without anything else needed to be done (not even re-added cards to wallet).

No root here. Besides, the only affected app was Google Wallet, anything else (Play Store says certified, banks apps and Netflix with no issues). Yesterday an Wallet update was available on Play Store, after applied the alert is gone, I'll try to pay something with the phone today and I'll update here.

PayPal probably doesnt work too, unless you flash safetynet from magisk (at least, on lineage it doesnt. Maybe evolution fixed it in sources, needs testing to know)
