TP2 1500 or Droid Eris 1500

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I ordered the $6 version (free shipping) of the 1500 TP2 battery off ebay. I received it today, put it in and it really left a substantial opening in the case. I looked at the battery and thought I might be able to do something with the wrapper to make the battery fit better so I started to fool around with it. To my suprise, the black wrapper that said "FOR: HTC Touch Pro2, 1500 mAh" came off and underneath it was another black wrapper. The one stated "FOR: HTC Droid Eris 1500 mAh". I started to peel that wrapper to see if there was something else under it, but there wasn't. I was hoping to find a 1750 mAh but no luck. :{-

The battery now fits fine with no openings around the case; it was charged to 83% and seems to be working fine. My question is: Is there any way to determine if this battery is a 1300 mAh or a 1500 mAh? The OEM battery for the Droid Eris was a 1300 mAh but extended 1500 mAh batteries were also available. The seller on Ebay has a high rating and guarantees the merchandise for 30 days. If it is a 1500 mAh I'm fine with this battery but I don't know how to determine it.

I have now gone through two charge cycles and I may be getting more time but not definite. It still is certainly a credible extra battery for $6 but I would like to know the actual mAh.

Well, I just received the battery from DealExtreme. Although it fits in the slot, it will not charge or power up. Either I received a DOA battery, or it does not work. Either way, save your $5.
I received mine last Thurs and have been using it all weekend. It's out performing the battery that came with the INC. Looks like this is one of those hit or miss deals.

This battery is for the Touch Pro 2 but should work with our (HTC Increds).
It appears that most websites consider the Eris battery to be interchangeable w/ our Increds ... would need to insure that form factor, contacts and voltage were all identical. Still, it'd sure make a cheap source for building a 'rechargeable recharger' for those longest days.

***edit***

The following rendered my prior comment mute:

To my suprise, the black wrapper that said "FOR: HTC Touch Pro2, 1500 mAh" came off and underneath it was another black wrapper. The one stated "FOR: HTC Droid Eris 1500 mAh"...(snipped)...The battery now fits fine with no openings around the case; it was charged to 83% and seems to be working fine.
... so, it appears that HTC touch pro2, Eris and Incred share a common battery (at least ;)

I got a few of these today. First one is working/charging now. (charger is really singing). I think the fitment is a bit too tight for my liking. You can BARELY snap the cover on the phone with these...

Thanks to this thread, I got my Dealextreme 1500mAh battery for my incredible last week (took 15 days to get here). I've been using it heavily, and it definitely out-performs the stock 1300mAh battery. I keep the stock battery with me everywhere I go so I can swap it out if needed. So far, I've only had to swap it out once... and that was because I was streaming live on uStream for like 20 minutes straight.

The only weird thing I found is that this battery is a little thicker than the stock battery by just a tiny amount... enough to make the backplate a little tougher to snap in. It does snap in snug though, so I'm a happy camper. This was definitely the best $5 I ever spent; thanks so much Hexto for the recommendation!

Glad that worked out for you. I've gotten similar results with mine. Some people here have had mixed results for various reasons but for me it was a great $5 buy

I Just got mine, It came half charged. So far it works great, even better then the stock battery. I have been doing by best to drain the thing as fast as I can but I cant seem to make a dent in the percent left. (Well not a big enough one) :)

I will do further testing and report back, but this looks like a super deal for $5, maybe I should get another?

Ive used it for a few days. Its worth 5 bucks at least, it does work but im not sure if its as good or any better than stock. It doesnt seem to hold a charge for a full day but Ill do some tweaking and check again. Like everyone said its a little big, and fits better if you take the stickers off it, but then the plastic is exposed and wants to come off. They are fine for extras, but ill probably still use the stock battery mainly.
