I updated my radio like this!!it works!

You are right! Its better to use fastboot!

But this is for people who can´t set up fastboot(like me:D)

Phone: HTC Dream (rooted)
ROM: COS-DS 03042011 2.3.3 Gingerbread
Radio: 2.22.27.08
Spl: 1.33.0013d
sdcard: 2gb ; ext/3
i`ll give it a try. because of a hardware problem, i also can`t do that by android sdk
You are missing important warnings..

Despite it always being safer to use fastboot as instructed elsewhere (and in many launguages on other forums) you are also missing these warnings:

1) flashing a 2.22 radio via recovery if you have a 3.22 or 1.33 radio via recovery *will* brick your phone
2) flashing the 1.33.0013d spl with a 1.22 radio via recovery *will* brickk your phone

Last if you are ignoring all warning and continuing: use the radio 2.22.28.25 with the flashable zip in my thread as at least it will minimize the problems listed above. (Particuarly because it will warn the user and prevent you from flashing if a radio other than 2.22 is installed.)
good to know.
btw: anybody had this configuration and managed it? or that`s a fact?

if you do things correctly it will probably be fine

I think the thing everyone is getting at is the very people this guide targets are the very people who will not follow the correct procedure and screw it up.

Even if you do everything right, you will *still* have a higher chance of bricking than if you flash with fastboot. Sure, you can try, but you might still brick because it is just recovery. I'm sure that these .zips don't have the safety features built in (except for the one for the radio if it is ezTerry's) to check if an incorrect/incompatible spl/radio is flashed already or not to prevent bricking.

Final word: It WORKS, its just that you will have a higher chance of bricking because of a user mistake or a recovery error.

Yes thats right! IT WORKS!
But the chance of bricking your phone is higher!Do it like me and it will work!It worked for 5 people and no bricked G1 till now! So the .zip´s are flashable!

Was the same thing for me! But it works perfectly so do it!
Only do it with the 2.22.23.02 radio and 1.33.2005 spl!

1.Flash the superwipe.zip and let i finish
2.Fash the mtd removal.zip
3.Go to recovery consol and type: reboot recovery
4.Flash the Radio, when it finish press home and back to reboot in recovery!
Wait till it finish.
5.Flash the hboot.zip, it will reboot after.
6.Power off the phone.
7.Press camera and power off and check
8.Power down.
9.Boot into recovery.
10.Flash the Rom, then reboot and enjoy!
so, a few questions before do it :)
1 - ohsaka said that you got to power off after flashing superwipe. is it ?
2 - what if i have danger spl (and no mtd custom partitions)?should i run mtd removal? or this step is just for those who have mtd?
5 - it will reboot into what? should i press home on reboot or it will reboot into recovery?
and again the danger spl.
i have the suggested radio, the suggested spl. does the partition from danger spl has any influence on this process?

"superwipe" is a flashable zip by ohsaka, that wipes everything automatically! the current version is v2.
i just can strongly recommend to use it :)

Hello habitat22,
Before doing your amazing guide, I have some questions :
- is it possible to come back in the old radio and spl after the upgrade?
- is the 1.33.0013d compatible with all the cooked rom?
- and a noob question : what's the benefit of these new radio and spl?

Thank you for your time, i am ready to flash, just wait for your answer!
Bye

1. I think yes (maybe you have to downgrade and root again??)!
2.No it isn´t!In some Rom´s it say 2708 kernel / or new radio(2.22.27.08)
Only flash these Roms! Im using COS-DS Ginngerbread and it is really great!
3.The 2.22.27.08 radio and 1.33.0013d spl is a Ram Hack!
After flashing these things you have abaout 14mb more Ram on your device!

use a knife to fish it out and don't waste time unplugging from the wall.
I've used a metal knife once and it worked so you are safe.

NO I think the radio is very good
but I think your guide is very poor

you do not even use the safer zips which are available
why?
because you don't really care about people's phones and are just looking to get a higher thanks score
why are you craving thanks?

Ok thank you for the link.
For now, my COS-DS is running well enough, I do not have the use of 14Mo Ram free. Maybe later.

    Thanks for your responses

it will run better if you have 2708 :D

it won't run at all if the chamber was full and your phone gets bricked

at least read though Ezterry's post before flashing the zips here
fastboot is not all that complicated and is much safer
