I think you should add pros and cons of android 2.2 and 2.2.1 because a noob like me

doesn't know what is the "best" (depending on what I want to do) Android version.

Recent convert from the mt3g. I have spent the last 18 mos lurking first here at XDA and then at CM's site modding that thing ad infinitum. After having that gen1 android device, this thing is sweet! Just rooted, so thanks for that. Now time for recovery and an OCable kernel!! Thanks in advance for answering my naive and easily searchable queries!

Some one please tell me a simpler way to install the recovery it seems confusing eg. "To flash: via adb shell or terminal type this from root su # shell. (Do not type the # as its just for reference to show you need a root # shell not a $ user shell)"

I am rooted on 2.2.1 so to say there is no root for it is wrong.

Afaik there is no root method for stock 2.2.1.
And by stock, I mean the one you get after updating through LG official updater (replaces the custom recovery with the original one).

But if there this a way to root 2.2.1, do tell.

In your opinion, which of the developed custom roms is the best ?
I`m looking for a equal mode to distribute performance, design & stability.I`ve read all the rom posts and i can`t decide.

The best ROM is the one that suits best your needs.
For me, is mine (i'm not saying you should install it). It's light, fast, minimal. The way i like it.
My best sugestion, is that you should first install custom recovery. Then try to make your own ROM. It's easy, and you have all the info you need here in the forum. This way you'll get the phone as you like.
If you don't feel in the mood to cook your own ROM, download them all and test them! Waste a few ours and find what's best for you

@noejn ...u might want to update this post...Its Missing the CLOCKWorkMOD that mik_os ported to P500...Here's the download link http://www.mediafire.com/?7wjjwp4cg671fw1 ..i borrow this link from this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909242&highlight=clockwork&page=13 and i have checked it out on P500 ..it does boot but don't have ROMS to check out its functioning..I believe i m right if not please correct me

Just to confirm. To have a rooted phone, I first install a 2.2 rom using KDZ flasher(since I have a stock 2.2.1 rom), then I root the phone using one of the two given tools in the first phone.
Am I correct?
And this would void the warranty right?
