No. Already got dok's one.
Doks one in using a tool that requires more work, by extracting dz files from OFFICIAL kdz files.

This tool is using official LG firmware installer, KDZ updater, which not many know can be used to flash baseband, and the fact that the fastest and most effective way is to flash to this firmware to root your phone easily.

Please read it carefully before making unjust comparisons

No, doktornotor's method doesn't involve extracting dz files from kdz. You should read it carefully first.

well he still has his own Dz files which are just the baseband extracts, personally his method using lgmdp seems a bit dangerous, as he is messing around with firmware internals, also looking through the entire thread a lot of people have a problem where thier sim card stops being recognised, as well as other bugs, with kdz this should not happen.
Using Kdz is using official Lg software, which is much safer in my opinion. At least make people aware there is a different method of flashing baseband and that is KDZ, as well as using kdz to flash down to the older firmware to root it easily.

Not everyone on here are tech heads like you guys, presenting people with alternatives is always better then making them use one tool that may make them feel less comfortable.

your method of getting the old baseband is pretty much the same method as changing the entire firmware using kdz, and we have a thread on that already (so basically your thread is a copy of an existing thread).

IMHO, kdz is more dangerous to use than lgmdp. as most of us know, kdz can cause problems that may leave your phone bricked. not to mention that by using kdz, you are wiping your entire phone. dok's method does not wipe your phone.

Is the custom recovery needed for installing a custom rom on this particular phone? Also I'm setting up a p509 for my little brother and want to know of the listed 2.3 roms which is smoothest and most stable? I don't need oc/vc. Just fast and stable and 2.3 .

Thanks

yes you need a custom recovery (the app "rom manager" can flash clockworkmod recovery for you). however this method is not recommended. see step 2 in the following link for more info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15309588&postcount=2

most stable?: stock gingerbread 2.3.3
smoothest?: in my opinion either andy's phoenix rom or mik's cm7 port (6.6.1)
a good compromise of both?: in my opinion mik's cm7 port (6.5.8)

Thanks but I'm stuck as my phone.e won't detect SD card. Phone is faulty and it's used so nothing I can do.

I've tried both of kernel, like goldenleaf 18b bsc..
Still i have the bug, but the phone goes a little more speedy..
But when i play for example to PES 2012 it's very lag..
With games such as Angry Birds ther'arent problem..
There is another solution to resolve this problem??
Thanks anyway for the help :)

Edit: i didn't find the kernel 18a!
I don't think pes 12 is modded YET for p500. I tried it using the best possible combinations but it still lags. Wait for 2 more weeks and the modded files will be out [But WAREZ ofcourse]. However pes 11 runs Butter Smooth :D
Try using andy's phoenix ROM from here
If that doesn't work try using any ROM based on official GB i.e. 2.3.3
For list of ROM's and kernels refer this
:)
