Also, what you observe can happen if you have only 500mAh chargers available. If you put the phone to some stress (e.g: Video, Navigation, heavy 3G usage etc) it can happen that the battery drains even though connected to a charger. It's a fairly simple equation: if drain bigger than 500 mAh and charge is equal to 500 mAh the battery will go down.
This can indeed be different on each ROM and kernel.
Still, your situation sounds rather unlikely and i think it is a good idea to check the hardware.

my charger's output current is 1A, and battery drains but no apps running(background app killed as many as possible)

I'm confused about usb charging:

i flashd sevral GB Roms:
TBD,mwakious,AndroPlus+,Energy Sensation XL,Carl's Sense 3.5

when the phone is connected to pc or plugged to a usb charger, it says it's charging while the battery is draining more quickly.

i wonder if it is a kernel problem?
I have similar problem my usb port is out of place if the cord is moved in just the rite way it charges again an that's how it started I plug in with my htc charger, light was on but I was loosing charge now it's real battle just get a full charge anymore
I hope it's not the case for you I will have to find a repair shop soon

Have been using the ICS kernel since its release with CM9 Nighties (currently on 15th May), and its been pretty good! Everything work like it should. zRam have me a couple of reboots though, and things went back to smooth and stable after disabling it. Thanks @Marc!

Thank you for your great work. In changelog you write
netfilter: quota2: add support to log quota limit reached
This means that we can add data limit in settings--->data usage?

Hi.
Flashed the last kernel on tytung's ics rom ok. Boot ok.
Then reboot and lost my a2sd ...
I'm using 40ad2sdx script from amarullz

If i delete cache and reboot all is ok . But a reboot and got it again.
Like the cache + dalvik must be wipe before booting...

Explanation from android.com regarding xt_quota2:
The quota2 netfilter module (originally part of xtables-addons) allows the functionality to set named quota limits and was extended to support notifying userspace when certain limits are reached. Once the quota limit is reached, the quota2 module discards all subsequent network traffic. The framework can also specify additional rules to restrict background data traffic for an application.

@tmotard: Please provide a dmesg and logcat log.

Since you asked it before: You can download the terminal emulator from the market.

Hi marc,

ok, here are the log.

What i've done :

1°) Flash your kernel, boot

-> run from adb shell
cat /proc/last_kmsg > /sdcard/log_afertboot1_ok
dmesg > /sdcard/dmesgafterboot1_ok

2°) Reboot the phone.

cat /proc/last_kmsg > /sdcard/log_afertboot2error
dmesg > /sdcard/dmesgafterboot2error

I hope that will be good...

edit : If you want me to test something, i can do it as i can reproduce it each time...

There are no differences in the kernel bootup between the first and second boot.

The necessary partitions are being mounted. For some weird reason the CM nightly kernel seems to mount the same partitions several times:

Code:
[ 7.884460] yaffs: dev is 32505859 name is "mtdblock3" rw
[ 7.884490] yaffs: passed flags ""
[ 7.884490] yaffs: yaffs: Attempting MTD mount of 31.3,"mtdblock3"
[ 8.094909] yaffs: yaffs_read_super: is_checkpointed 1
and:
Code:
[ 11.059295] yaffs: dev is 32505859 name is "mtdblock3" rw
[ 11.059326] yaffs: passed flags ""
[ 11.059326] yaffs: yaffs: Attempting MTD mount of 31.3,"mtdblock3"
[ 11.272735] yaffs: yaffs_read_super: is_checkpointed 1
and:
Code:
[ 69.837646] yaffs: dev is 32505859 name is "mtdblock3" rw
[ 69.837646] yaffs: passed flags ""
[ 69.837677] yaffs: yaffs: Attempting MTD mount of 31.3,"mtdblock3"
[ 70.045227] yaffs: yaffs_read_super: is_checkpointed 1
Except for that there are no differences. FYI, mtdblock3 is the system partition.

If your a2sd script is first filling up the internal memory and then the sd-ext partition it might happen that you see the low storage message.

Also make sure to wipe the dalvik cache and fix permissions in your recovery.

the fact is that i have to wipe cache and dalvik before each reboot.

Without that I don't have any message, just no application at all ... :(

Hi
I don't like when that doesn't work :)
i could see inlog_afterboot2error : init: could not import file /system/etc/init.local.rc

could that come from busybox ?
I've updating the busybox and will flash again your kernel.

Edit : not good :( always a problem after second boot..

Hi,
Could my problems with this kernel (+Tytung's ICS ROM) could be link to the size of the cache ?

here the description of my partitions (with dansta recovery)

misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery_leo.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 165M
cache ya 2M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize

EDIT : No, that isn't the raison. i've now 5/170/5 and always the same problem.
Lost the application after the second boot...

I havent checked Amarullz's script, but can you check how it mamages A2SD? I am having a script (which I got from somewhere - don't remember!) that I have customized to move /data/app, /data/app-private, /data/dalvik-cache directories alone to my SD EXT and symlink them in /data. I do not have any problems with Marc's kernel, have been using it since v0.1.1.

Note that I use a TMoUS HD2, and am doing this to say some space more in /data as well as to save my NAND from possible badblocks. /data/data is the only directory of sizeable content that resides in /data , which is to avoid upgrade issues (apps FC after updating to a newer version of CM9 nightly if /data/data is moved). With this setup, I have about 550 MB free in my NAND's /data.

Can you share your script, I like it also to have only the apps on sdext, because it is the fastest way for all sdcards. Some of them are too slow for the small files in /data/data.
But all scripts link also the /data/data and Mount2SD didn't work on Paradroid.
When I have Link2SD with apps on sdext, are their working when I replace the script in init.d with another (your:D) script?
