yes, it fix the problem, but often I have to restart the phone because of the camera issue.
I second this. Lollipop has the same issue with Periscope. Can the code for this fix be applied to a CM12 camera?
Beeter way is APP from googleplay called : mediaserverkiller

Hello. I have i9300 with cm-10.1.3.1-i9300-signed (latest CM10.1 build). The fix did not work for me in this ROM, so I modified it.
I renamed:
lib/hw/camera.smdk4x12.so
lib/hw/vendor-camera.smdk4x12.so
to
lib/hw/camera.exynos4.so
lib/hw/vendor-camera.exynos4.so
It seems this is the filename my ROM uses for the camera driver. You can modify the latest zip (5.0) yourself or use the one I modified here:

This fix works for all cameras. I could not hang the camera no matter what I did. I hope it's useful for someone. Good luck!

I had bugs with what'sapp unable to take a picture with the inapp camera, then crashing, then THE camera bug (unable to connect).
Try the mod but it didn't fixed the issue. Thanks anyway for the "restart camera apk" wich work perfectly!

I had the SGH-T989D on Koodo.
I had installed cm-11-20160612-NIGHTLY-hercules.zip. Camera was not functionning for video in Camera App, Snapchat and others...
Install the CM_Fixed_Camera_for_CM_All_AOSP_roms_by_RohanAJoshi_V5.0.zip did not work.
So I have installed Fixed_Camera_for_CM_All_AOSP_roms_by_RohanAJoshi_V4.0.zip.
Then, video recording works fine in Camera App, Instagram and Snapchat but did not work in Messenger and Camera App in face mode...
Thanks for the 80% fix...
Would any of this work with cm13 ? camera FC on video recording but works just fine with pictures clicking ?

periscope yazdığım bi yazı İngilizce olarak çevirip koyarsanız belki sorunun çözümünde üretilmiş bi fikir olarak yardımcı olur yayın akışı hazırlanırken kamera normal ön veya arka kamerada ise görüntü veriyor ama yayını başlatmadan önce başlatmaya hazırken sunucunuza bağlandığında yani iki defa dokunup kamera değiştirmeyi denediğimde sıkıntı çıkıyo uygulama kapanıyor bence uygulamadan kaynaklanan bir problem bu çünkü uygulama o sırada video alımı kesildiği için sunucuya gönderecek veri bulamadığında hata verip duruyor yani kamera arasında geçiş yapılamamakta delay olayı konulması lazım bence oraya kanıtı ise uçak moduna alındığında o sırada yayın için sunucuya bağlanmaya çalıştığından dolayı henüz veri gönderimi yapmadığından uygulamada bununla ilgili kontrol sağlamadığı için sorun olmuyor ön veya arka kameraya sorunsuz geçmekte. lütfen bununla ilgili bir güncelleme yapınız yani kamera değiştirildiğinde sunucuya yeniden bağlantı gibi bir kod yazılması gerekli uygulama bu şekilde çoğu custom ROM kullanan insanın derdine çözüm olacaktır. veya Samsung kendi kamera uygulaması haricinde uygulamalardan kamera ile ilgili istek geldiğinde hem ön hem arka kamerayı aktif edip geçiş işlemi sırasında sorunu ortadan kaldırıyor olabilir mi ????

Don't use for CM13. I tried. Now the system won't boot anymore. Have to reinstall everything again.

Steps for install :
1. Reboot to recovery.
2. Flash zip.
3. Wipe cache and dalvik.
4. Reboot phone normally.
This will replace your current camera app.
Tested on : Official cm10.2 nightlies, Temasek's Unofficial cm10.2, Temasek's Unofficial cm11.0.
Works on : Mostly all CM/AOSP based roms like PA,,AOKP, Carbonn Rom, PAC, etc.

2. Included Snapshot while video recording.
3. Fixed : Video recording focus issues.
4. Fixed : Sometimes shutter gets disabled, no matter how hard we bash it.
5. Fixed : Sometimes Pictures comes blurry ever after correct focus.
6. Most of front camera issues are fixed.
7. More those I did not remember.

1. Stock Camera app does not refocus after 1st shot in Continuous Picture Mode, Use any 3rd party app I mentioned previously for Continuous Picture Mode.
WorkAroud : Set focus to Auto in default camera settings.

Pros:
