Hi doc,
I have the N986N which is Snapdragon this year.
Can I root the device by simply patching the appropriate AP file of my variant along with the other parts of the firmware?
Or do I need a dedicated patched kernel file like the one you provided just a snapdragon compatible?

laggy after root

Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if I am the only one with this issue. I have rooted and unrooted my phone about 10 times but always get the same issue. After rooting using method 2 the phone is laggy and hangs whenever I open the keyboard or pull down the notification shade. I cannot receive calls, the phone rings on the other phone but not on my phone, if by chance it does ring,I cannot hear anything and the person cannot hear me and the speakerphone stays on and cannot be turned off. I have a N976B on latest August update. These are the steps I have taken to root as per the steps.

1. Flashed latest stock room (august patch)
2. Enable USB debugging and flash dr.ketan_twrp file
3. Reboot to recovery allow system modification and install multidisabler 2.3
4. Reboot back to recovery and wipe data by typing yes to confirm
5. Boot to system and install magic manager and allow it to complete install and reboot

Followed all steps but phone stability is heavily affected, process system and system ui keep stopping.

Anyone else having these issues?

I think I have found the issue, I am on the latest firmware which the rest of the files are made for (TGA) but the TWRP file is last month's firmware (TFA). Is there no TWRP file for the latest firmware (TGA)?

Thanks

I have had to root using PART 1 instead of PART 2 as PART 2 does not work with latest Stock ROM.

With PART 1 I am unable to install Magisk and TWRP at the same time.

Part 2 will work
Read a name of text file on download area that shows compatibility of base.
No, Part 2 does not work on N976B with CTGA base stock rom. What download area are you referring to? if you are referring to this: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/d4ugie4yadxu6/N975F

There are no TWRP files for CTGA base, in your download area there are only TWRP files for CTFA base. You have CTFA base files in your download area and no CTGA file.

There are no TWRP files for TGA base, in your download area there are only TWRP files for TFA base. You have TFA base duplicated in your download area an no TGA file.
If you read pdf carefully, you will find that, download area will have a file that suggest required base. Here attached screenshot of Download area which shows files are correct for TGA
Not necessary everytime twrp or kernel match bases, Samsung sometimes takes ages to release source
Hundred of users used same file, if doesn't work for you, there might be something wrongs on your side

Yes, this is the firmware my phone is on (CTGA base), but as I mentioned earlier whenever I follow the steps for PART 2 the phone is laggy after root and cannot receive calls, not sure why because I have followed all steps.

Dr Ketan,
Once again gonna enjoy your ROM after previous notes (thanks!)
Now got my note10, *#1234# displays Model SM-N970F/DSM, AP N970FXXU1BSL7, CP N970FXXU1BSL4, CSC N970FOXM1BSL9 .
In Software Info, the service provider SW ver. read ...OXM_XSG... , XSG/XSG,XSG/XSG .

1. Can I skip PART 1, and only follow PART 2 : (Root Q base with TWRP) ?
2. Can I download from sxxmobile other stock ROM apart from N970FXXS5CTG1/N970FOXM5CTFA (United Arab Emirates - XSG) ,
say, N970FXXS5CTG1/N970FOXM5CTFA (Thailand - THL) ?
3. No OEM unlock option is displayed, does it matter if there is currently no SIM card inserted? Need reboots it many times?

Thanks

Where is the EFS Backup Tool for Note 10+ Exynos ?

If time permits, I will post efs backup tool today
I haven't found a link to the Note 10+ (Exynos) EFS backup..!?

Can I use the Note 9 tool posted in that forum (IMEI_Tool_N9_XDA_1.1.apk)?`

Is there a guideline to backup manually? E.g. can I just copy the EFS folder on the system partition via ADB? Is that enough?

Thanks!

ıs there a way not to press volume up and power key not to loose root access every time reboot the phone?
I read something like this in the S20 root thread, I would also be interested if there is a way for the N10 not to use the "OEM Recovery Key Combo" to get Magisk active.
