hello, I managed to install cwm without losing wifi and memory, I also installed superus from cwm, but nothing like this amlgrado to screen, why?

hello, do not accept the font size to that root as possible? other software,, how about installing an unofficial ROM? if so, which one?

Can I ask you a favor? you can try to install from the market fontsize and see if it really magnifies the characters, reboots ok by me but the characters are always small does not change anything, yet supersu asks me if ovglio accept, mah! thanks

After 2 days of nearly pulling my hair out trying to root and install custom rom on my Mega 6.3. I finally came across this thread. Ok I have not installed a custom ROM yet as I am about to go away for a few days and dont have the time to do it at the moment but it is rooted with Knox disabled. I have rooted stuff before with out any problems so really had me confused.Had no idea what Knox was let alone that it existed. Folllowed OP's instructions ane ensured I had extracted the APK on to the SD card before going any further. As soon as it had booted up after flashing philz and installing Superuser 1.80, I manually installed the superuser apk. I ran it and was informed of KNOX and asked if I wanted to disable it. I of course said yest and root checkr confirms my phone is indeed rooted.

A big thanks to all.. Planning on installing Liquid Smooth but if anyone has any better recommendations I'm all ears ;

There is no help for you... as for now nobody knows how to reset knox counter...

noob question here.. after flashed the philz recovery via odin, when we open the recovery mode, will it show philz recovery or stock recoery?
cause mine still show stock recovery after i flashed the philz recovery

When yu flash Philz recovery you have to reboot immediately inrecovery mode.
If you reboot the system the recovery will be overwritten by the stock one.
To do that:
In Odin untick "Auto-reboot" then flash the Philz recovery, when done switch off the phone with a long press on the power button.
Then reboot in recovery and the Philz's one will be there :good:

Here's my issue.

I tried to root the "old way" with the kernel flash thing because I didn't realize I had a ROM with knox. So I had the whole borked kernel no wifi issue. To fix it I just flashed a stock ROM tar thru odin that did not have a data parition. So now everything works fine.

I then flashed philz and then went into philz and flashed the SU1.8 that is linked in the OP, but it says no binary blah blah and I get some thing from the phone saying "unauthorized access to a secure area has been blocked..."

The reason I need to root is to back up all my apps WITH data using mybackuproot or TB or whatever, but for this I cannot wipe my data partition.

Is there any way I can get real root just to back up my apps without wiping the data partition from where I am?

My luck with superuser 1.65..
rooting with this method make our device not perm root, so cannot backup efs
but no problem to backup or modified system data
