Strange thing, at the restart after the update the logo image was the correct one (thw VW one). But after that the image changed back to the default one from malaysk rom. So I applied the update.img agan, but the restul was exactly the same. Anyone else had this problem?
I think Malaysk and booroondook are doing something to their build, if the kernel.img and recovery.img are different from what is in backup.img then it will restore from the backup.img or at least I think that's what is happening.
If I change the kernel and recovery boot image within the backup.img as well then it doesn't boot at all, well at least it didn't for me.

I wish I could be more help. I am using an older rom as apart from graphical differences I can't really see any difference from the rom I am using to the latest one and any other changes I don't miss anyway.

Thank you in advance and keep up your hard work!
Hi goose247,
Could you please repeat the process with the same Opel Astra boot screen, but for the latest April release this time? It's for a RK3188 800X480 head unit.
Thank you so much in advance for your time and effort! You are an invaluable member of this forum!

Guys, something has changed in the build of Malaysk roms. If I change the boot logo, 1st boot it has changed but every boot after that it reverts back to the original Malaysk boot logo.
It must check to see if it's the same recovery and kernel image that is in the backup.img, if they are different it seems to re-write to replace the originals. I'm no rom builder but it is the only thing I can think that is happening.
If I change the boot logos in the backup.img you will get a boot loop and recovery fails.

As it stands at the minute I am sorry to say there is no point in me changing the boot logo with the latest Malaysk and booroondook roms.
