Why Now Browser engine should be fastest and better than Chromium?

sniemx.png

Time to extend features here!
Now Browser is officially the lightest web browser on the market (excluding naked with no UI),
but let's imagine its speed with lots of powerful features without taking care of app size.

This is Now Browser Extended Program!

Who have said that full featured browsers can't be super ultra fast?
Now Browser Extended is more powerful: fastest, with some new stuff in the UI and with killer features like AdBlock,
Bookmarks management, TOR browser support and yes... I'm planning FlashPlayer for Kitkat too (I've already implemented
flash with kitkat using this apk)

You can even send feature request with a beautiful coded form, check it at
www.nowbrowser.eu5.org/extended

well...

...Let's see the new extended features!

• AdBlock
• Now Browser Engine Xtended
• Bookmarks management
• Unlimited tabs for Web File compressor
• Tor proxy support
• Powerful integrated search tips
• Customizable search engine
• Immersive mode
• JavaScript Superfast Mode
• Extended Program access, you make feature request, we listen!
• Custom secure hosts
• Find In Page feature
• Multiple and customizable user agents
• Fully working multitasking between tabs
• Smooth animations
• Popup blocker

other features:

★ Google Now themed
★ Powerful tabbed browsing
★ Navigation gestures: (thanks to Lighting Browser for concepts)
- Swipe from left to right to go to the next page
- Swipe from right to left to go to the previous page
- Double-tap on a zoomed page to fit the screen perfectly
- Long press a tab to close it
- Long press the back button to exit from the browser
★ Support for Flash Player, to play web games on your smartphone! (Android 4.1.x and older)
★ X Connectionsave Mode™*: don't charges images to save your
3G traffic limit
★ Incognito Mode
★ Differents user agent (Desktop, Phone)
★ Java Script Acceleration*: Use Java Script Superfast Mode to enable the JavaScript rendering of webpages
★ Full screen mode
★ Working Hystory
★ Importable bookmarks

Some NEW screen?

You have any other ideas? Other customizations? Just tell me, I'll happy listen to you user feedback :cowboy:
A big thanks to ACR for Lighting Browser, that I used to study how make Now Browser better, lighter and faster!

Thank you expecially to you for supporting and give me precious tips to power up this stuff!

I know it can maybe make it bigger but can you implement home screen with fast dials like opera or Chrome? I'm looking for ever for browser that is light on ram and battery but have fast dials instead of opening bookmarks and looking for site I want :)

really awesome. fast and easy to use.

one suggestion,a better way to organize the bookmarks will be perfect. Bookmark Folders or changing the sequence of bookmarks for example.

Liked your browser enough to go pro. However, I had a problem with downloads reappearing in my notification bar. Took me a minute to realize I had to go to Download Manager and delete them. Might need to put a connection to the download manager to make it easier to delete downloads. Why did they keep reappearing in my notifications? I also use Habit Browser and Naked Browser, and never had this happen. An I missing a setting?

Review:
- UI is better than Naked Browser.
- Fast, but still can't beat Naked Browser.
- This app size is a bit larger than Naked Browser (AFAIK).

Suggestion:
- Add the exit button in your browser.

great browser

played around with it it's awesome and fast

some suggestions

smaller tabs

after i activated full screen mode it show tabs/url/bar when i'm scrolling and hides them when i stop scrolling
google chrome does this but in regular browsing mode

it would be alot better if it hides everything but the webpage (nav/stat)

if u'll go with full screen all the way plz consider adding immersive mode

or transparent nav/statesbar

for me it's the latter

i hope that made sense :D:D

Really suits me, great work! Thanks!
2 ideas: if you could make the address bar empty on the new tab, it would be great. And the second thing is, as other mentioned before, the speedial home screen, that possibility would be great.

If you used any code from the Lightning Browser repository (which it looks like you did considering all the new features you mention are ones that I have added to the Lightning repository over the past couple months), you have relicensed your browser under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and must open-source your code for Now Browser Extended.

    ---------------------------

EDIT: based on the screenshot you posted, it wouldn't be Lightning Browser, but actually Thunder Browser (similar codebase to Lightning but a different UI), which I have not yet released due to issues with instability. However, it is still licensed under the same MPL 2.0 license which would still require you to disclose all the source code of your app to the public... Although unfortunately it looks like you just threw a skin on the code and renamed it rather than adding additional functionality.

FYI, I've been planning on releasing Thunder Browser as a completely free app so selling a skinned version might not be the best idea.

    -------------------------

EDIT 2: I just downloaded the extended version and confirmed that it is indeed a clone of the Thunder repo, so please disclose your source code per the license.

A couple things I notice (based on my knowledge of the code) are that you've renamed "enable JavaScript" to "JavaScript super fast mode" which is deceptive as it doesn't describe the actual setting. Also, the so called "Now Browser XEngine" thing is just a renamed version of the setting "allow sites to open new windows" (a setting which just allows target=_blank urls to open in a new window) which is also deceptive. I have absolutely no problem with people using my open source code, but when you intentionally deceive naive users into spending money on fake features, which it appears you are doing (you don't just accidentally rename a simple setting a super duper fast XXXXXXEngine enabler) , then I have a problem.

I appreciate the enthusiasm and hope it's not discouraging, but PLEASE stop deceiving your users. Without them an app is nothing.

If for some reason I'm wrong about this deception I apologize, but the same thing was occurring with the normal version of the browser (I pointed it out a while back) which has the same sort of renamed settings to hype up users.

    Sincerely,
    Anthony

    • Update 2.3 is coming this hours

    - Pro version now has a fully working Now Browser engine, now it also remains checked when you select it
    - Both version was compiled with API20 (Android4.4) so you shouldn't have more problems with bookmarks or other crashes
    - Pro version has text reflow enabled by default merged with Now Browser engine, so you don't have to select it
    - Free version has better cache management, now it saves only the most visited websites (when you visit a single website more
than 5 times the cache will save it)

    :cowboy:

P.S. If you guys will support me in good ways I'll definitely start working on a Desktop version! :p

    - Revamped Incognito mode now with a lighter url text color to fit like the default browser screen
    - Crash fixes to Froyo devices when enabling Java Script Superfast Mode

    Free updates

    - Revamped Incognito mode now with a lighter url text color to fit like the default browser screen

It's all for now, your support it's really amazing, so in the next weeks I'll try to satisfy your users request!
Remember, Now Browser is made by you, and within the limits of my knowledge I want to learn how to make my apps better.

The update will be available in some hours, due Google Play publishing time
