After 4 days of use, here are my thoughts:
Looks: The rom looks beautiful, pure NXT, the only things that ruin the NXT look, are the nasty statusbar toggles. I suggest not to include them in the rom, but make it available as an add-on, for those who dont want pure NXT looks.
Performance: The rom is overally fast, but it seemed unstable. With doomkernel, at 2ghz i got 4959 on AnTuTu, but I get random reboots every 30 minutes, even at 1ghz.
Overally I think its a beast rom, but i suggest making a second version without those statusbar toggles, and maybe you could port the camera app from NXT, i believe you can do it ;) By the way good luck developing, ChongWiZ.
Could you get a logcat? I don't get any reboots...
I have a nxt themed cm7 camera, its quite convincing
But I need to finish it off. My birthday is Wednesday so
I'll get round to it soon

Your ROM is great! I have been using it since yesterday. The problem is that I also get reboots.
I get reboots sometimes when I open messages, or browser, and instantly lock the screen. I stay at 1GHz and I use aire kernel.
Please fix this. :(
I really like your ROM and I would love to stick with it until I learn to build my own.
Please have a second version with fixes. Thank you!

I'll update new stuff Sunday. Does anyone want xperia GX style? Or is there already to many similar Ics roms? I am trying to get this setting style like in 3rd screen but no luck..

Sent from my ST18i using xda app-developers app
That GX style would be very nice, just what I was looking for.

I really like the interface and battery life of your rom.
Is it still on development ? Without the reboots it would be perfect for me :good:

If you're updating it: would it be possible to remove facebook, google maps and liveware ?

thanks!

odexing

Hi all,

I just odexed this ROM (incl. the enhanced toolbar)
This will give you 406 MB internal storage space (instead of 345 MB), and makes this ROM even smoother than it already is.

I also put explorer and systemcleanup tool in the rom (in system) so you have it directly after flashing.

You only have to enable usb debugging and unknown sources after flashing.

When I think it's stable I will put a link here to share it for all.

Nice to have a real 2.3.7 ROM in my collection for the RAY.

[edit: so far so good , no issues
plans :

-ad-block hosts file
-enable enhanced auto brightness
and.....who knows what more
I'm not a developer, I just wanted to add something to this ROM...all credits go to RORES for providing a real 2.3.7 ROM :)

It's not 2.3.7.
Well a lot of system APK's differ from the 2.3.4 version and framework too, but maybe you're right, I don't know.

The NXT ROM is still stable.....I don't understand why developers don't odex their roms at the moment they release it (and keep the de-odexed ROM just to do maintenance).
Battery drains just a little faster than ICS, but I see that happen on every GB ROM even when using aire kernels.

Now after restoring 65 apps/games, internal storage still is at 258 MB free :)

Could you send me a link for your mod? Sorry I haven't had time to maintain it, with setting up my new pc and schoolwork, I can't get much done. Btw, the framework Is genuinely from 2.3.7, I just added bits of 2.3.4 for compatibility.

Oh and btw, the keyboard doesn't show up after a couple of time using it. Would there be a fix for that? :)
Are you sure ? Havent seen this issue yet after few days ...

How can I reproduce this ? In which application you see it crash ?
Maybe it is language related ? Which language ?

Don't know what you mean....semcdeskclock.apk ? (I attached) This one is for alarm, worldclock, stopwatch, timer and clock.

Or is it something that you miss in this ROM and you need it added ?

odexed rom 2share 4all

Hi all interested people,

This is the odexed version of nxt 1.0 including the lockscreen

After installation you have 401 MB internal storage space available.

How to flash (hopefully noob proof):

-copy the zip file to your sdcard
-use a convenient kernel (aire, or the modified stock+cwm+init.d attached)
-boot into CWM
-CWM:wipe data/factory reset
-CWM:mounts and storage, format /system
-CWM:install zip from sdcard, select "NxT Bread 1.0 odexed V2.zip"
-CWM:reboot system now

What I noticed is that first boot gets stuck......don't panic....just wait.....and after 20-30 seconds your phone boots again successfully.

What I did :
-odexing complete NXT ROM
-added kingsoft office (so you can read office docs and also pdf's)
-added explorer
-updated google play
-added systemcleanup tool

What I forgot:
- enabling auto-brightness
- putting a hosts file for blocking ads (just use adaway for now :) )

The mentioned systemcleanup tool is a very nice tool to manage your apps. If you need more internal storage space, it can put an application on system space (and odex it for you). Also when system apps are updated, it will update them in system itself, not in /data dir.
Just play with it, it's really cool.

Why odexing ?

Odexed ROMs are faster than their de-odexed brothers. Developers de-odex to be able to apply theming easily.
One thing developers forget is to odex their roms again before they publish them....so I fill the gap here.
Odexed ROMS have more internal storage space available and generally are smoother.

I'm not a developer myself, but if you have questions.... I will try to answer, or in case of problems..... I will try to help you out.

All credits go to Rores (1st thread) as he actually did the port from the xperia U ROM.

I hope you enjoy my cooking, and enjoy the meal. If you throw up, don't shout at me but give me the chance to chance the recipe :)
