Since the original thread by @intersectRaven is no longer being updated, I wanted to share some factory images for Marshmallow (MWD48B) and beyond.

I will post fastboot flashable images for the boot, recovery and system images, unless otherwise noted. I will also post flashable zips for TWRP with at least those partitions included, possibly also bootloader images.

(In)Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I'm getting a bootloop when upgrading from [some build prior to MEC23G] directly to MWD48B.
A: This is most likely due to the fact that the bootloader did not get upgraded, and an updated one is needed for Marshmallow. Use the flashable zip for MWD48B above, which will perform the necessary bootloader upgrade. UPDATE: If you continue to experience the bootloop, there are several ideas floating around as to the actual cause. The common consensus seems to indicate the battery charge level has something to do with it. It is also rumored that M1D63G resolves this issue, so try updating if all else fails.

Thanks for this. Perhaps a more descriptive title of the thread such as "LATEST LG G WATCH R ROM IMAGES - MWD48B" including a change-log of firmware from MEC23G to this would be more informational and attract a lot more users to this very useful thread. Am downloading at moment and looking forward to doing a fastboot update. Thank you Op!

Sounds a little clickbaity to me as worded above, but I do like the idea of mentioning the latest available version, so I prefixed the title with [MWD48B]. Thank you for the suggestion.

As for the changelog, I'll leave that up to Google and LG to (hopefully) provide. I noticed the big performance increase over MEC23G stock, but I don't use enough of the special features (gestures, microphone, etc) to know for sure what changed in the OS other than the beloved restart button making a comeback.

Installed and running all good here. Nice to see Restart menu option is back...not enough time yet to run through all the performance improvements from my daily usage so will continue on this and experience.

So, is it just me, or is the battery life in this build just horrible? I used to be able to get 2 days out of MEC23G, now I'm lucky to get 12 hours...

Big thanks for putting this together. Every few days I'd find my watch in TWRP from attempting to OTA and I'd been too lazy to restore to stock and update it. I haven't seen very many flashable zips for Wear devices. I like it!

I'm looking forward to getting my OTA's from this thread. May I request for future versions that you make a zip file without the recovery? That'd make updating a little quicker. If not, no biggie.

Sadly, it won't. Version MWD48B (and likely future ones) has the same recovery updater built into the system partition that most phones have since Marshmallow, so TWRP will get rewritten either way without modifying /system.

Guess you'll have to make pre-rooted updates then. J/k

it was hard to install after LeeDroid but finished succesfully, works fine.
Only one thing...
Watch could boot only with attached charger, without charger it shows lg logo and back to black, the same situation is with original recovery and TWRP. :/

What is going on?

Sounds like something is wrong with your boot. I suggest flashing the files again.

About the same happens to my piece of **** watch too.

I've flashed v6.0.1 and it works when it is connected to the charger... but if you remove the watch from the charger it turns right off.

I see the full update includes more partitions than just boot, system and recovery... but I don't know what to do from here..

..a watch that can't be removed from the charger is pretty much useless.

my watch working well without charger unless i want to reboot it, every boot without charger is finished on black screen. :/ i will try to fix it and give a feedback here. your symptoms looks similiar, maybe few mor flashes will help. :/

after next flash i have the same issue, just doesn't work without charger :/

update:

after reading thread about factory images of previous versions unfortunately issue with flashing was in past and there's no tips about how to fix it. only something about clearing userdata and locking oem but those methods are not very helpful. :/ so my watch is dead.

I have a theory that the the watch can't be charged with Samsung Quick Charge 2.0 chargers. I've only had Quick Charge 2.0 chargers connected and I've used them to charge the watch. I think the watch somehow can't regulate the voltage or current very well when being charged with 9V 2.2A chargers. Usually the phone will do some data exchange with the charger and decide the voltage and maybe this fails for the watch? Or the amp is too high.

My watch reported 100% full when connected to a Quick Charge charger, I removed the watch - black screen. When I hooked up the cradle to a 5V 1A charger the battery percent was very low and after charging an hour and a half it reported 100% and the watch is around my wrist for the first time in ages.

New theory: battery is worn out. I've already opened the watch and if I can find a cheap LG BL-S3 replacement battery I'll try.. if it's expensive, then the watch ends its days in the drawer.

Edit: also my last flash is an update.zip I made based on the flash files from the first post in this thread and custom android-info.txt based on a Watch Urbane update.zip file. I replaced the bootloader version with our version. It just much easier to do a "fastboot update update.zip" than individual flashes :)

vt0r, feel free to upload this file as part of your upload to androidhost instead of me using Dropbox. :)

So my watch updated itself to M1D63G without any prompts. I have no idea how long I've been upgraded  . Security patch version was brought up to July. Hooray security. Some users have claimed this update resolves the bootloop issues they were experiencing with MWD48B.

Check the OP for M1D63G fastboot images and a TWRP zip of just boot/recovery/system (I didn't notice any bootloader updates).

I'd post the OTA, but I wasn't able to capture the URL this time, and I'm too lazy to downgrade for it - sorry. Anyone who happens to grab the OTA URL, please feel free to post; I'll add it to the OP with credit.

    M1D64S images released!

Updated the OP with images + a TWRP zip for M1D64S.

    THE ZIP CONTAINS BOOTLOADER IMAGES

If you encounter any issues with accepting the regular OTA from M1D64K, you should just be able to flash the M1D64S TWRP zip to fully upgrade your watch, including bootloader updates.
