Dear Dr. Ketan,Needs to install on PC, then connect device with emergency recovery option
By the way there shouldn't be issue rebooting download mode, try this
Connect device to PC
Keep holding vol down + power - As soon as device screen turns off (reboot), release power and hold Vol up +down
This should reboot device to download mode
Remember you needs to connect to PC during this. Sometimes perfect timing is needed, keep trying and you should have download mode, once you have straightway flash stock rom and use Csc*.tar.md5 instead home_csc*
I you were "Test User" of T05 (Downloaded from another location) then yes, else it is same *_NEW.zip since it is public.I see on the downloads page there is listed a "new zip" for full rom. I flashed before the new zip was listed. Do I need to reflash?
By the way the battery on this is amazing.
Thats only difference, if you are fine without that option you are fine with skipping update.I wasn't a tester and no App Cache option in rom tool>mods and misc
Thank you for your quick reply.
Play system update is a security update not the security patch it's shown on the third place in software info. It must be February 2023 or March 2023.I've seen 0 problems with play system updates on this rom, do you mean apps on the play store? What is play system?
After digging ino it found there is a issue, I can fix it but at presently fix isn't good. Fixing it may be unacceptable to many users as it may brick some critical patch, while this bug hardly making any issue to majority of users. Unless I found perfect fix, I am no going to address it.I've seen 0 problems with play system updates on this rom, do you mean apps on the play store? What is play system?
Can you explain what critical patch can be bricked ? Sorry for askingAfter digging ino it found there is a issue, I can fix it but at presently fix isn't good. So I guess the password drawback will be just when using TWRP, right? Not that you can't use fingerprint or other screenlock passwords at all when using your phone ... Then it wouldn't be much a problem or difficulty to just disable it when using TWRP related tasks.Data Encryption :
Since we now have TWRP with data encryption support, What you prefer to have ROM with Encrypted/Decrypted data?
Benefits :
- With data encryption your data will remain safe
- Won't require to Format data while moving between Stock/Custom ROM (Encrypted data supported)
Bugs :
In both the cases System will remain System-RW (read/write capabilities)
- TWRP have still one bug, If you set LockScreen Password, TWRP can't decrypt it. So you have to disable Password in case you want to use TWRP with Internal Storage Access
- May be Encrypted related any bug, We needs to test more but Primarily seems no any issue
I have added poll to OP, Kindly vote, If there are enough users to test Encrypted then I may make Two version of ROM for T06.
T07 will have data Encrypted/Decrypted depend on what majority of users choose.
Yes only while using TWRP. If you set lockscreen password, twrp won't see your internal storage that's only drawback. Same time it protect from stealing data from twrp.So I guess the password drawback will be just when using TWRP, right? But one has to wipe data to install this type of ROM, right? No dirty flash possible?Yes only while using TWRP. If you set lockscreen password, twrp won't see your internal storage that's only drawback. Same time it protect from stealing data from twrp.
For normal use while phone booted to android, no limitation using password/pin/Finger print/face lock
One time while moving from decrypted to encrypted. But one has to wipe data to install this type of ROM, right? No dirty flash possible?
Absolutely great. Then I see no drawback in encrypted to be honest. One time while moving from decrypted to encrypted.
Dirty possible from encrypted to encrypted. Indeed from stock rooted to encrypted custom dirty flashing possible
Setting up device first time after Dirty ROM installation
- Check for Magisk/Alpha app, if not available/only stub available, Install Magisk/Alpha apk (get proper version from download area) → Open & allow run additional setup if asked for → Reboot
- Open ROM Tool from app drawer and Apply essential fix and Reboot,
- After reboot you can check SafetyNet and should be passed. You can use this app from playstore or This from Github to check SafetyNet (ROM Tool will offer to install this during Essential fix too)
- Now you can further setup ROM a per your liking.
- Since A12 new Magisk (Zygisk) doesn't have buil-in Module repo, You can get standalone module manager from here (ROM Tool will offer to install this during Essential fix too) For more details and queries about new magisk ref this
IMPORTANT : For dirty flashing ROM (No data wiping)
- In case your existing ROM have different version of Magisk from one you are going to Install (Check Changelog for Magisk version info) then first restore magisk if you have hidden (rename) it and then uninstall magisk app from app drawer. After ROM installation, you may have stub (Magisk sortcut) for Magisk, you can click there and update. If no stub available, download Magisk apk from download and Install apk manually. If you are using same version of magisk then nothing requires to do for magisk.
- Select "Prepare device for dirty Flashing" from ROM Tool and straightway flash this verison of ROM with Odin. In case you are on older version of ROM and said option is not available in ROM Tool, manually delete *DrKetan* module(s) before flashing ROM
