Use a root explorer and see if ppp folder is in /system and if 97ppp is in /system/etc/init.d

It might not be called 97ppp exactly, but if you have ppp folder, that is a flag file for ppp, so you almost certainly have ppp.
I just found another way to check from android, phone *#*#4636#*#* and see if it says ppp0 or rmnet0
No ppp folder, PPP in default.prop, or any init file associated by PPP. Checked installer log, and it says "rmnet installed". I am on clk and I am on rmnet... Even this is sent w/ using rmnet so yeah... Maybe something in clk changed to support it w/o anybody noticing it...

i just tried and it wouldnt even install rmnet.....during install it says cannot set rmnet for clk set ppp as default...

This is odd are you using chautien cm11? i can't see where in aroma config or updater script where that check is performed.
The aroma config for chautien is
The updater script for chautien isCode:#-- Group 1 "Default Connection Type","",2, "RMNET Connection", "Please Choose RMNET for MAGLDR bootloader.",iif((file_getprop("/tmp/nfo.prop", "bootloader") == "MAGLDR"), 1, 0), "PPP Connection", "All bootloaders support PPP.", iif((file_getprop("/tmp/nfo.prop", "bootloader") == "MAGLDR"), 0, 1),

if ppp is selected (2) it installs all the ppp files
Anyway, i am using cLK 1.5.2.1, and installed chautien using xylo's edited 4ext nand recovery. I chose rmnet install and it installed rmnet (as lolerpro8 said). I get the H and G symbols but can't actually connect using browser or play store
BTW, i did *#*#4636#*#* using "rmnet" and saw no difference to the output than with ppp on tytung's rom, but no rmnet0 or ppp0 was apparent, so not really a definitive test
lolerpro8, can you post a logcat
Parents ehNope, I can't.. Due to school my parents took away my laptop I bought a month ago... So I won't be able get any logs until my school finishes...

Parents eh
try terminal app,
su
logcat > /sdcard/logcat.txt
dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg.txt
then post it as attachment
i can post mine if necessary, but data still does not seem to be working for me.
Hi lolerpro8,
Ok, let me first explain a bit, maybe it will clarify things:
- All the modem functions are handled by rild that is basically a simple daemon that will get all android api calls and route them to a hardware manufacturer library. This library is in fact doing all the work.
- It basically translate google API into modem commands and handles call establishement, call status, signal, ...
- With native android phones, htc, motorola (...) provide a library that does the job, and as HTC HD2 hardware is close to HTC desire or HTC desire HD, desire HD binary library is working quite well for our hd2 as it is.
- But for network, android phones are usually using rmnet interfaces implemented in radio (=modem). Unfortunately as hd2 has wince roots, native network way is ppp, not rmnet, and rmnet implementation in hd2 radio is buggy as hell.
- This is why we developed a wrapper: it put itself between rild and htc native ril, routes most function calls to htc ril but handles network function calls to establish ppp instead of rmnet.
So, basically, wrapper is hack to keep using HTC binaries while doing ppp.
You will have to find some boot loader dev for that. The problem is some BL devs like rick_1995 and cotulla are out of business...

out of business is a rude thing to say
It's just that my HD2's screen is screwed up, I can see the backlight come up and even control android when it boots but the display is blank. What confuses me is that I've never opened it up, I did put it in my baggage during a long haul flight though.

Inviato dal mio Nexus 5
sending 'recovery' (6916 KB)...
FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 5.099s
Hi
I've been trying to get android (tytung's cm10.1 to be exact) to work on my hd2, but I keep getting stuck somewhere.
With Magldr (and DataOnEXT) it sort of factory resets every time I reboot and now with clk it says
while trying to flash an updated version of twrp.Code:sending 'recovery' (6916 KB)... FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error)) finished. total time: 5.099s
If I use extended twrp 2.5.0.5 included in the latest download I get "unable to mount storage" when trying to flash anything so that doesn't work either :/
Any help on the Clk side of things?
