Thanks for the research guys :)

So from your experience dalvik-cache is what causes low memory problems?

Yeahh..dalvik cache is somehow stored in internal memory by default..thats the main problem..it should be stored in sd-ext partition to prevent low storage problem..a little modification is needed in ur script from your side..otherwise rom is smoothest than any other rom out there..:)

16gb class 2 Samsung SD card
2gb ext3 partition

I like playing games from nand so I use apps2sd features. I like the way that is done in this rom, thanks chef.

I really like this rom but I could not find any GPS through any app, I tried like three different apps and even after making the adjustment to my zone couldn't. I know my phone's GPS works right cause I come from another rom and works fine.

If someone has a suggestion or comment on this ill be grateful.

Did you make sure to enable it from the notifications/settings menu? Which servers did you change to?

Have tried your way using "a2sdgui" but the application won't open..it says that i'm using the old version but the problem is i just downloaded..so the question is do you use the paid version or the free one?

I'm still experiencing problem about storage as well..still trying to find the way to solve this..

AFAIK this is the best, stabile, rom that i know but comes with the storage problem

I am also facing this problem. App2sd gui won't open saying that i am using an old version despite just downloaded it.

We can install till internal memory become low..after in this app..move dalvik cache to sd-ext..then internal memory again reaches to 160-170 mb..again u can install more apps till memory again become full..again repeat dalvik cache procedure..we can install apps untill sd ext becomes full..:)

Hi aternus, I remembered you mentioned that we do not need to use the command in terminal for app2sd script. In this case if i want to move dalvik cache to sd-ext, could I still use the command cachesd?

@dalvik-cache & low internal memory problems

After much investigation I came up with the conclusion that its better to clean dalvik-cache via CWR instead of moving it to SDEXT.

The main reason you guys are facing low internal memory problems is b/c you're using too many applications at once. I tried to replicate the issue you've reported and it took me ~120 applications to fill-in dalvik-cache.

My suggestion is this: If you install/uninstall lots of applications and you start to see your system filling it; go to CWR and empty dalvik-cache.

Next, god willing I'm able to get some free time from work, I plan to merge all SDEXT features into a single solution which will mount /data to your SDCard and forever get rid of the need of App2SD (Android will natively see SDEXT partition as DATA).

I was wondering, is there a possibility that the original email app can be installed? I love the ROM yet I miss checking my email on my phone.

Other them that, great ROM! I love MIUI and this ROM makes it even better :)

Can I install it afterwards, too? :)
I'd hate to reinstall my ROM again.

Thank you! That works like a charm here :)

After installing this ROM I got to use my phone more then my iPod touch, something I wouldn't do before, pretty much indicates how awesome and smooth it is :D

Didn't even have to reboot, the app showed up immediately after copying it into the folder.

new update or....

Aternus:

First, thanks for a wonderful ROM, GB, it's the most stable daily ROM ever made.
Are you planning to have more update to this GB version, or leapfrog to the next version, ICS or JB?

Just curious:D

Again, a million thanks for your effort and sharing....

    #Information

    Information

    myMIUI IDE© (Internal Data Extension)
PLEASE DON'T USE ANY THIRD PARTY TOOLS!

The ROM includes cutting edge technology to extend your phone's internal memory by using SDCard's EXT partition.
Furthermore, all the great features below been integrated directly into the kernel. No need to worry about security, performance or stability issues.

    Included in myMIUI IDE©:

    1. UNLIMITED INTERNAL MEMORY
    2. UNLIMITED CACHE MEMORY
    3. Legendary myMIUI SCRTM©
    4. Cache2DATA
    5. Apps2EXT
    6. Dalvik2EXT
    7. Data2EXT

What you need to enable myMIUI IDE©:

    1. BACKUP ALL DATA FROM SDCARD
    2. format SDCard
    3. create an EXT2/3/4 partition on your SDCard (recommended: 1GB EXT / 0MB SWAP)
    4. perform a reboot

    How it Works?
When the ROM detects an SDCard with an EXT partition, it will run the SCRTM© routine after which the EXT partition will become your userdata partition (a.k.a. "/data").
This will allow unlimited internal memory for your HTC HD2; performance may be severely degraded with low class SD cards!

    Clean Start
If you ever need a clean start, just switch your SDCard with a clean one and the system will automatically reset itself.

    Users without an EXT partition
Although users without an EXT partition will not see the benefit of myMIUI IDE©, they won't experience any issues whatsoever. The ROM will use the internal NAND memory from their "/data" partition.

Important Note: For IDE© enabled phones; Do not remove your SDCard from your phone while its on. Doing so may cause data corruption and/or OS freeze.

    zipAlign
The ROM speeds up your performance by using a zipAlign routine which will tweak all your applications so that they will run optimally on the Android OS.
The routine uses a database for all the applications which it already tweaked so it won't tweak the same application twice.
If you install a lot of new applications that need tweaking, it might take some time for your phone to boot up; the speed greatly depends on the application size.

What you need to enable zipAlign:

    1. SDCard with at least 100MB of free space
    2. nothing else! everything is done at boot time automatically

    Nexus S ID
The first question you might ask yourself is: "why would I want to spoof my device's identity?"
The answer is simple: Google Play Marketplace downloads.

By default the ROM identifies the device as a "generic HTC HD2" which is the correct way of naming our beloved HTC HD2, although some users might want to change that so that they can install applications that weren't meant to run on HD2.

What you need to spoof your device identity to Nexus S:

    1. Select "Nexus S ID" while installing
    2. nothing else! everything is done automatically

WARNING: If you install an application and it crashes, its because its not compatible/been improperly installed due to the fake device configuration.

Some applications, especially from the Market use the device information to perform different installation routines (figure out SDCard mount points, OpenGL compression methods, etc...), so use at your own risk ;)

    • Installation Log - you can save that to your SDCard while in the installation wizard
    • Logcat Since Boot - adb logcat
    • Debug Log Boot - located at "/mymiui-boot.log"
    • Debug Log After Boot - located at "/mymiui-debug.log"

As always the file will be available in about 45 mins...

This will be the last version based on Gingerbread. Next version will be JellyBean, that is, if I find enough time to debug it...

    Donations are much appreciated... :)
