Just wanted to share my experience on installing the Rom. Ran SD Formatter for my SD card then I ran Task 29 and installed MAGLDR using the HD2 Toolkit program. Then used AngelDeath's CWM partition. Installed the 1.4 then installed the 1.4.2 update after. Boot the phone and let it settle for 30 minutes then I turned off the phone. Wait 5 minutes then boot the phone again. I noticed that the phone would reboot by it self when installing applications from the Market. It would constantly get FC's and really laggy response. Also, some of the Widgets would not work. Tried to fix permissions in CWM but still no luck. Redid everything over again but still the same problems.

I finally got it to work by manually adding the updated files from the 1.4.2 zip update to the 1.4 zip full rom. Installed the rom again with all updates already integrated. And now everything is working great, no FC, no lag, and no reboots. Rom is fast and stable.

Just wanted to share my experience in case someone else gets the same problems like I did.

Tell me exactly what you did? I just tried this and I dont have the issue, This is what I did incase I did it wrong:

Tap the right personalize button on the right of the screen, go to wallpaper, then choose wallpaper, crop it, and then hit save, wallpaper changed.

If I did it differently then yours please let me know, and which rom your using (I have to ask since some tmous users are using the eu version as well).

i did everything according to OP ... Its when i select HTC WALLPAPERS -- I see only the default wallpaper, others are there but no picture showing. so, when i even try to select a wallpaper = "no internal memory" I flashed, re-flashed. 1.4 up to 1.4.2 update .. same thing!

Thanks for your reply, one of the reason I did the rom this way is because I ran into an issue and to solve it I had to make a rom and then an update pack. But I am going to try to intergrate everything into one rom again and see if I can avoid the update pack. Will be reading your reply again, if I have any questions, please dont forget what you did incase I need to pm you.

Okay, I know why, I will fix that, its actually not a "bug" per say, it was intentional, I was preserving space for the rom and removed the default wallpapers because most dont use them and use their own files. I'll see about putting them back for 1.5 if you would like. Thats why if you read the 4 posts, one of them said I removed files to save space, my fault I should have specified default wallpapers.

I had this bug with the white day indicator on the calendar widget. Someone suggested to reflash the whole rom. Unfortunately I couldn't find the quote :(
However, I wanted to say thank you!
Now everything works perfectly: HTC Sync, Internet pass-through, calendar widget, using my SD card through my phone, and so on =)

Thanks a lot again!

I've got a small problem with battery monitor widget.
this widget doesn't redraw very well.
when you put it on the launcher and after that use the carousel to switch beetween screen sometimes the widget doesn't redraw, sometimes this widget is on the launcher but it never update the value...

for that you have to longpress it (even if you don't see it).

Not a big problem, think it's the egl but didn't have this problem with eclipse rom.

I really don't care to have all the wallpapers "personally". I would just like a no lag stable version of sense 3.0 and from what 1.5 is looking like, your getting close.
Thanks AD yer the best!

Has anyone flashed the eu version on the US hd2? Some people on jhr's thread have and said it was very snappy and stable. Does anyone know if their are any disadvantages of this.
Thanks in advance.
I'm willing to find out my self but am not able to repartition right now.

Dtizzle,

I have tested the sd version of mine out too, everyone has their own opinion, honestly, so it would be a biased question for anyone. Is it stable, most definitely 1.4.2 I think is by far the most stable, is there an advantage, yes and no, yes because now instead of having only 300+ mb of space for apps, you have whatever size you make your sdcard for apps, no, because as most know the sdcard is slower then the nand, and it also depends on the class of your sdcard, as well all know if you have a class 2 it will be slower and less snappier then being on nand, class 4+ will be an improvement, but also remember the sdcache by default is set to 128, increasing it to 1024 or 2048 with an sdcache tool, will show improvement in reading, and thats what your looking for anyway, most of the apps installed are being read so increasing the cache increases the read speed which then increases the snappiness. But also do remember that by using the sdcard more, your also running the risk of burning out the sdcard as well from all the reads and writes. From my opinion SDCards were not meant to replace drives and the constant read and write is wear and tear. But again thats my opinion.

Every time I try to install a app from the app store it reboots back to the android boot animation, any suggestions?

I have had this too, I believe this has to do with free memory, looking into this for 1.5, I installed a optimizier for 1.5, which I havent tested yet (still gathering the fixes together and also focusing on my gps scripts for this week) I am hoping this next version will stop that. I am currently testing the memory optimizier on 1.4.2 I will try this and see maybe I'll get lcuky and it fixes this.

    FAQ & Things

    FAQ's

Q: Will you be putting out a CLK rom?
A: No, if you want to use clk its rather simple, extract the initrd.gz and zimage from the rom and place it in the fastboot folder. Flash the rom as normal, and then enter fastboot and type this command: fastboot -c "" -b 0x11800000 flash:raw boot zImage initrd.gz
    Reboot, and enjoy!

Q: Does the TMOUS use an SD-EXT?
A: No, the whole rom fits on the phone, (yes you read this right), and you still have about 45mb of free space in the system folder.

Q: What about apps? Thats not enough room to put apps in!
A: All apps are scripted to install in the "DATA" folder, since you have nearly 400mb of free space, I think that is more then enough. Not to mention you still do have an SDCard.

Q: What about us EU users?
A: EU users will still have to use an SD-EXT. I didnt want to play with this much, since I dont have an EU HD2, but I am looking to see if I can lessen how much of the EXT is used. (Possibly moving framework and some rom apps into the phone). Still undecided.

Q: Are you planning to update this rom?
A: As of 1.5's release No. Due to the fact that a> All bugs should be squashed, b> There isnt anything new to add, c> and the biggest reason; Both my HD2's are biting the dust and can no longer continue flashing roms.

Q: Can I use a different Partition layout?
A: Sure, but if it doesnt work, then dont blame me.

Q: How stable is this ROM?
A: As stable as its going to get currently, there are too many missing parameters in this rom and until they are sorted out it will still have glitches and hiccups.

Q: I don't know how to flash this rom, can you help?
A: Sure. Read the sticky in this forum and learn the basics.

Q: This Rom is garbage, it doesnt work, and you call yourself a Chef?
A: No, Refer to the Answer above regarding me being a Programming Idiot.

Q: I like this rom do you have plans to do any others in the future?
    A: No Comment.

Q: Can I donate to you for all you have already done?
A: Sure if you feel so inclined, its that green button under my thanks meter to the left, but if you dont, the thanks button will do.

Q: Can I download this ROM from my Phone?
A: Only if you are using mobile firefox or opera, the default browser will not work on the phone, it does not handle FTP links.

Q: I have these glitches on the screen, or some people call white noise every so often. How do I get rid of them, or do you have any plans to fix it?
A: Please See this Post: Graphic Glitches or White Noise

Q: I want to have your child!
A: Sorry I have 6 kids, the factory is closed.

    Glitches Explained

Bluetooth Pairing: To get Bluetooth to work, go into Bluetooth, turn on bluetooth, put headset or device into pairing mode. Then Tap Scan for Devices, then tap Discoverable (Making the HD2 discoverable) the device will be found and paired and working. If you disconnect a paired bluetooth or turn off bluetooth, to re-connect, turn bluetooth on, then tap discoverable, then tap the device you want to re-connect to. Its a PITA but it works!

    CWR Partition Needed TMOUS

    misc ya 1M
    recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery-raw.img
    boot yboot|ro 8M
    system ya 400M
    cache ya 8M (Recommended 16)
    userdata ya|asize|hr allsize

    Works for me.

How to prepare your Phone for this rom if you are coming from another rom using the same CWR Layout (If you Flash a new CWR Partition you can skip this step):

In CWR go to Mount & Storage, and Manually format each section:

Format Boot, Cache, Data, System, then go to advanced and then wipe dalvik cache. once you do that, then you can flash the rom. I have made it that it formats boot, data, and system before flashing, but its an extra precaution, especially for EU users.

    EXTRA NOTATION:

As I said in the FAQ, you can try different partition sizes, but any problems that occur I can not be responsible for. Do understand that we all have a limit of what we can use on our rom.

So seeing that so many people are having this stuck at gogogo problem, I have attached here the CWR zip for EU & TMOUS. The problem is not the Rom but your BOOT Partition Layout.

Just to be safe here are the instructions, "Just in Case":

Boot into Magdlr, make sure your phone is not connected by USB, then choose USB Flasher when it says waiting USB, plug your phone in, WAIT for it to say Waiting USB...USB, then flash the CWR I provided, these settings will and do work, when the phone reboots, then choose option 8 to go to recovery, and flash the rom, and right after flash the 1.3 update.

As a habit, you should after the flash of the rom go into the advanced option before rebooting, and choose error report, so that a recovery.log of the boot process is saved to your sdcard, and then you should pull this log into your computer. This log shows you the whole flashing process and can save you endless time and headaches of why your phone is not booting.

98% of the time the failure to boot is due to running out of room on the device because of the wrong partition layout. 1% of the time it is due to a wrong boot layout. 1% of the time its due to bad blocks on the phone that cant be writtten to which reduces your partition size.

I cannot guarantee that HD2 toolkit formats the partition layout correctly, or anything other program, this is what I use and it has not failed me yet, if you choose to use a different way of laying out your partition, then please do not blame the rom.

    Thank you.
