What is AOKP?
AOKP, short for Android Open Kang Project, is an open-source replacement distribution for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. The name is a play on the word kang (slang for stolen code) and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was a joke, but it stuck. It was started as free and open-source software by Roman Birg based on the official releases of Android Open Source Project by Google, with added original and third-party code, features, and control.

Roms aren't coming in.. Devs deserted this phone long time ago. Also this phone is worse than max 1 and kernel sources have been released way too late.. Almost 1 year after release. People sold this phone long time ago probably.

    Devs didn't desert this phone.
Kernel sources took 7 months to arrive. "Almost 1 year" sounds way too exaggerate. The only "worse" thing when compared to the Mi Max is the SoC. On the other side it means better battery endurance, much less heat, better design and a really comfortable device.
Your assumption that people probably sold their phones is a joke. I know so many Mi Max 2 users that are happy with their phones...
Custom ROMs will give it even more visibility. Don't be so negative...
It's pretty amazing to see the work that has already been done since the release of the kernel source code.
Be patient and thank people for their work.

Hey guys!! Apologies for the delay... I got some help from Iscle and fixed few things like Mobile Data, WiFi and Bluetooth... Thanks for waiting up :)

interesting. phone was released in june/july 2017, kernel sources were published beginning of january 2018, thats like 6-7 months. how does that equate to a year? :)
how is mi max 2 worse than mi max 1?
mi max 1 kernel sources release took about 5 months from phone release and nowadays im seeing several oreo roms for it already. so... 1-2 months later makes all the difference, then? doubtful...

its been 23 days now since kernel sources were released. im amazed at how impatient a lot of users here are. its like they expect 20 different custom roms (stable and bugfree, of course!) a day after kernel sources release :D

relax guys, give it some time. in the meantime, enjoy the miui and aosp based custom roms we DO already have ;)

    cheers
