Comment: There is a lot of time since the last zwatch firmware update. Did you stopped the developement? Are you planning to update it to Android wear?
Thanks

I was wondering if what Alien meant was they're developing for a newer watch rather than the SmartQ Z. Not necessarily an update for the current watch but just a new watch all together with the Android Wear already installed.

Yes, But the new watch is the same only with heartrate sensor, so Will be easy to port.

or maybe it will be a completely new watch with a Qualcomm processor... We can't know!
What we know is that Smart Devices has new watches that keeps talking about but that it doesn't release nor says an accurate release date.
Also Android Wear is different regarding the updates, because they come from Google itself, that is completely different from Smart Devices current strategy and that could also be not cost-effective.
I am waiting for Smart Devices replies...

Its possible that Wear is coming to our Zwatch officially though, because I remember Imagination MIPS is one of the partners for Android Wear with Google, alongside Qualcomm etc.

Sherry says "I think, maybe" so maybe shes not informed yet ;)

The watch needs to be evaluated from Google in order to have Android Wear.

Well we have to wait... It would be nice to know how much time is needed... weeks? months? next year?

Being honest...I see it almost imposible... The microfone of this SW doesn't have noise canceller and it doesn't work well... Android wear works most by voice so...

Actually, using Google Voice Search works surprisingly well on the Zwatch. Sideload the apk and try for your self, aside from the speed issues, it works great. OK Google et all.

I hope this "news" of SmartQ developing Android Wear hasn't put anyone off development of an AW ROM for the Z1. I personally don't put a ton of faith in development of AW for the Z1 by SmartQ if there doesn't seem to be confirmation that they are indeed developing AW for the Z1 and those that have asked the question aren't getting consistent answers from all parties. If they are indeed developing, and we have confirmation that it's for the Z1, then I can wait. Without that certainty, I'd encourage our experts here to continue working toward what will likely be a very successful ROM for this watch if they can get it to work.

Thanks to all those that have contributed so far.

I think Smartq is working on AW, but for the new "P1" or "Z2". The good news is that the new watch have the same Z1 hardware.
BTW, ingenic also is working on it. They have the Android Wear for mips "already in schedule" :D
We need any mips Wear watch because z1 have an arm emulator but isn´t working with all the apps.

I saw a video a while back of P1/Z2, it ran same os as our zwatch. If they are bringing aw to that then i think it should be a fairly easy port since they share the same hardware (mostly)
