Still not working for me with MiniTool, but does work with 4EXTRecovery

I still have nothing in my NativeSD folder.

1. Formatted SD card in MiniTool Partition Wizard. 13GB Fat32, 2GB Ext4.
2. Copied my windows files from my sd backup into the Fat32 partition, using windows file manager. (I did try it without these as well and got exactly the same results).
3. Copied folder 4EXTRecovery and contents into root of SD card. Copied JB_BETA_4_NATIVESD.zip to same place.
4. Rebooted windows mobile to get clean phone with no apps running
5. Opened file manager. Opened 4EXTRecovery folder. Run CLRCAD. RUn HARET. Linux boots, autoruns 4EXT Recovery v2.2.7 RC5.
6. No sd-ext partition shown
7. scroll to option "EXT3 - 4EXT - EXT4". Scroll to "wipe ¦ format -> EXT4". Run it. Only one choice, so run "format SD EXT". Choose "format SD". Screen locks and then returns to main screen;
   

   Format sd-ext complete.

   Press end key to return to main screen.
8. On menu, choose Print Partition Info:
   

   partition ¦ fs ¦ size ¦ free
   sd-ext ext4 2109MiB B
   sdcard fat32 13688 MiB 9.16GB

9. select "install from SD card"
10. select "choose zip from sd-card"
11. select JB_BETA_4_NATIVESD.zip
12. select "Yes - Install JB_BETA_4_NATIVESD.zip"

13. Finding update package
    Opening Update Package.
    (pretty Jellybeany icon)
    New wysywyg screen titled Welcome!, saying "You are about to install Jelly Bean HD2 for HTC HD2"

    Click Next
14. Select "Install to SD-EXT", Next
15. Select default PPP, Next
16. Ready to install, Next
17. Middle of screen says Installing to SD-EXT
    Bottom margin says unpacking, but never says installing. Actually the progress bar stays put, just the animation whizzes across.
    

    Installation complete... Please reboot..., Next
    Congratulations...
    Installation complete..

    click Finish
    Phone reboots into windows. NativeSD folder is blank.

I have tried this ROM on a completely unused SD card, 2GB. I put it in the phone, and copied across 4EXT Recovery. Then I used that program to format and create completely new partitions from scratch, 1GB Ext4, the rest left for Fat32.

Copying across (again) 4EXT Recovery and the zip file, it creates the files in the NativeSD folder, so I can boot into JB. I have not finished the set up, just got as far as setting the language. Now all I need to do is do the same on the bigger card (I hope).

So it would seem that MiniTool is not the way to go, even though it appears quicker because it runs on the faster PC.

It will not work on the 16GB card. I have used EXT4Recovery to create a 2GB EXT4 partition, and the rest Fat32.
Then when I have copied across the zip file, it installs a NativeSD folder, but the files will not run! Haret does not have the little "crossed tools" icon that it does when it will run in windows.
If I re-run the installer, then the files in NativeSD will run, but the HD2 boots Linux then sticks on the "htc" screen. I've tried leaving it half an hour.
I've saved the log file. iT IS EMPTY

You are not having much luck are you.
Try formatting sd using https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/ before partitioning.

After an attempt to install using a 1GB EXT4 (because that seemed to work on the smaller card) I am now formatting the SD card using the suggested program from the SD card organisation. Full erase and format to start with.

Do not put the ROM zip in the same place as your Recovery folder.

You can leave ROM.zip files in your "Download" folder.

Firstly, thank you for trying to help. I am coming to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the SD card itself. I have just used teracopy to transfer the files and folders of my windows mobile installation to the new SD card, and it has come up with lots of errors. Now in windows file manager, there are empty folders, but if I try to copy the files that should be there, I get the message that they already exist. File manager now offers to fix errors on the SD card, and says that it cannot.

Do not put the ROM zip in the same place as your Recovery folder.

You can leave ROM.zip files in your "Download" folder.

I followed post 2 TO THE LETTER. It is not easy to follow, and I had to read others to understand what he was saying. If you read my post 301 you'll see that I did this very carefully.
In the end, it might be merely the xxxx SD card. Oh what joy. Back to the vendor to try persuade him to give me a replacement.

I'm using this rom since the latest update (28-09), and I like it! It's smooth, no bugs whatsoever (apart from the known bugs) and fast! I'm using NativeSD with 4gb EXT4 on a Adata 32GB Class4. I tried all of the JB roms, this one works best for me, thanks for that!

I've another problem. i could never register my Google account on Google Play (Google Market) via any ROM. and the problem is about no VPN is SETTINGS work or if i use second apps Google Play wont affect. so no phone is registered on my Google account and i don't have any access from PC. any idea how to solve this?

Woo-hoo!

New SD card arrived today. Half an hour later I am running Android Jelly Bean. Thankfully I got a refund for the faulty SD card.

I am really impressed with this installation. It has taken over from windows mobile for me. In partnership with my Nexus 7, it covers my mobile computing needs.

I've downloaded soft keys mod but have no idea how to install it.

You should be able to install the beta4 softkeys the same way as mentioned here http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=31991639&postcount=287 (beta 3)
Also LNE team don't deserve credit for JB, smokin901 and others do all the hard work. All we do here is put the files into nativeSD format.
Also, until smokin901 chooses to release his ROMS in nativeSD format (), please ask nativeSD questions in the LNE thread.

The only way i have found to install it is to unzip native sd beta3 and replace system_ui.apk and framework_res.apk then re-zip the files (not the folder) and re-install via recoverySD.
I tried using root browser lite but couldn't replace/rename system apk without messing up the rom Didn't try adb.

Very confused: the NativeSD beta is JB_BETA_4_NATIVESD.zip
The new files from softkeys_powermod22p_JB_Beta4.zip are both quite a bit smaller than the originals, and it seems most odd that adding a row of buttons creates a smaller file.

When you say re-zip the files, do you just mean those two into individual zip files? If so, why replace them into the NativeSD beta?

Next, I cannot find recoverySD. If I try to use 4EXTRecovery, it cannot install them individually.

Surely there has to be a reason for everything to be in the one zip file? (Or does that only work in normal SD or NAND?) On the face of it, the softkey zip file which i have downloaded contains instructions for the installer as to where to put the files when unzipped, but the NativeSD installation has previously made all of the system files and folders Read Only. So whilst using 4EXTRecovery and then "install from sdcard" appears to work and gives feedback to say they have been installed , but it cannot overwrite the system files so in fact it does nothing.

Because the system files are read only, I cannot change my ringtone or alarm sound as I cannot add anything to those folders.

Thanks. I was afraid i was missing something.

PS: I've been able to change my ringtone by putting the one I want as an mp3 in the new folder I've found on the sd card called Ringtones, rather than trying to put it in the system/media/audio/ringtones folder. Tomorrow I'll look for my saved Alarm file on my PC as I see there are also new empty folders on the sd card called Alarms and Notifications.

2. copy the system folder from powermod folder and paste it to the system folder in the rom folder (merge & replace all when asked)
3. in the rom folder select all 5 files and zip them (do not zip the rom folder)
4. put the rom zip to sdcard and use 4ext recovery to install it
Should be ok
If you have problems or dont like them you can re-install original JBaospBeta4 rom zip

Edit; you can usually use a root enabled file browser to write to /system but deleting/swapping system.ui.apk causes problems.

Thanks. Step 3, all 5 files means kernel, META-INF, sdcard, system and install.sh?
That was my confusion as some of them are folders.
I'll hava go when I am not tired tomorrow. just gone midnight so not the best time to be flashing roms!

Does Netflix work with this? I have installed this ROM and everything works except Netflix. I get only audio but no video.
