It would be great if in future editions we don't have to redo all our dpi settings.
Use the PA Backup app
Ok, I got it working by setting Default DPI to Tablet everywhere you can change DPI, and the default UI to phone.
thanks I see it is failing to pick up the correct default dpi (like keyboards).
I think Xylo said he will pick up in next release. Meanwhile the resolution to pick will depend on our own default settings

Hello. Since a2sd installs every appdata to sd DroidWall isnt working properbly.
Is there a way to install some apps the old way to internal storage?

Is there a way to hide softkey in landscape mode ?
It can be found in Nexus 2.3 which is useful when playing games.
I notice there's an option in Pa1.4a is hide in fullscreen app, but that only works in camera, any idea ?

updated from 1.1a no issues thanks!!

just updated from 1.1a (not freshly installing).
I do not play with any dpi stuff (i like my 4.3 screen with bigger font and bigger buttons). I have no issues at all.

It feels smoother than 1.1a when I first unlocked the phone in 1.4a. Thanks bro!!:D

Full flash player with videos in any resolution didnt work in any ics rom ever. But in tytung cm9 360p videos dont crash flash player

Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk

I have been fooling around with some different libs, but can't get it to work yet..
There have been some web changes lately so maybe it's somehow related.. on the other hand.. for me mobile youtube website plays fine on full screen.. no matter what resolution (even said 720p files)

Hi, I've got a question regarding A2SD.
Here I read that moving the Davlik cache to SD isn't optimal. So is AD2SDX - AMARULLZ DATA TO SD-EXT better, since it leaves the System App Data and the Davlik Cache in the internal Memory and moves 3rd Party App Data and System and 2rd Party App Apk to SD?

Have you read the 2nd post ?
When enabling the included a2sd you have all kind of options to choose..
No need to flash another/different script.. it will only mess things up..

I don't think so.. If you want that kind of functionality you could try link2sd from the market..
Though I think it's strange that only a single app refuses to work properly with a2sd enabled..

Xylo is there a way to get netflix app to work? Flash content is choppy as well. Also what happened to the soft keys? The soft keys made the tablet mode more tablet like

Glad you like it.... anyway 1st issue is known and wonder if it's rom related.. 2nd issue is known as well and is still a general WIP.. 3rd issue.. enable your softkeys in settings > system

Xylo I noticed that the pics in first post are still from Nexus thread.

Today I had some free time and made one for the HD2 if you want to change.
Tried to send you a PM but no luck.

Tell me if you want to take a look to it.

Thanks for your pics m8.. Will post them asap ;)

just installed cleanly (doing task29) and now can't do with the whole mess with dpi-s! Firstly, just after install, the keyboard was microscopic, so did the 'reset' option in 'per-app' settings and it helped...
However wanted to adjust other settings for this keyboard and (in the keboard's 'settings' this time) the letters were again thus microscopic - didn't know where to find "per-app-dpi" in the "all-apps" list, so chose the "phone" option for "system-dpi". The result? After rebooting got just small fragment of very huge "lock screen" - so there's no chance to unlock the screen and enter the settings - no mention of any other use of the phone :( Any hint please?
Reinstall? Honestly, this is the third turn of the same procedure, so reinstalling would be the third either.

The other issue is every second boot hangs. This didn't happen for the previous 'Paranoid' versions (with the same 'system' partition size = 180MB, enough?). Please report if anyone else experiences it...

How many apps to you guys have?

I have 231 apps altogether, and with this amount of apps, even using swap and task killer, the ROM gets very very slow within the hour after boot.

Sometimes it just freezes, maybe for 30 seconds, looks like a complete freeze, but then it continues...

Do you experience the same behavior?

The exact same config on GB was very smooth, with no lag whatsoever, even after 24h uptime (I went up to 3 days uptime without any issue).

I expected HWA to make ICS builds even more fluid and smooth, it seems it is not the case... So I am wondering, do you guys see an improvement from GB? Or you feel the same than I?

(PS: no mention here of the per-app-dpi which is just a fantastic awesome feature!!!!!)

Thanks

No pb

LOL

"Only" 126 apps for me and no pb with this ROM.

In previous versions, sometimes, need to wait 2 or 3 reboots to feel the full power on it.

Since 1.1, I flash over the old version and I did not have this phenomen again.

See you
Franky

Just talking about fresh install, with no app installed yet, on my phone... Really just every third boot succeeds! (otherwise it freezes) The previous versions didn't pose such an issue... Is it possible because the battery is 30% charged? Is charging now and then see if improved... (but honestly doubt this is the culprit)

PS. The SD's second partition remained ext3 formatted - maybe is it required to be formatted with ext4?

Omg.. just to clear something up here.. you do realise ICS is different compared to Gingerbread ?

That said.. I don't know how you installed these 231 apps, but if you 'installed' these apps via a restored backup with data created on gingerbread I am suprised the rom is even booting up for you...

You will need to setup all your apps up for ICS manually at least once and after that it should be usable with other ICS roms..

Besides that.. how do you know if not 1 (or maybe even 2) of your 231 apps is bogging the whole rom and is just not ICS compatible...?

I think you are complaining about a non issue here to be honest...

And yes.. ICS > GB performance wise.. check the 'gamers-comments' for example.. I thought this was clear from the moment HWA was reality..

    PARANOIDANDROID ICS HD2

This rom is based on the great work of team paranoidandroid
and the unoffical CyanogenMod 9 Nightlies from cmhtcleo team so all credits and thanks to them in the first place !

    n1os36.jpg

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone.
For more information about PARANOIDANDROID please check this website

    Features :

    • P.A.L., First time in Android history that Per-App-Layout has been realized
    • This rom features a setting called Per-App-Density. You can define an apps native DPI with it, make it look stock, smaller or bigger than that, your decision.
    • All apps are depicted at DPI 182 per standard. No other rom has that feature right now
    • Google Play does not allow density changes and will stop working if you mess around with that. This rom fixes that problem for you 100%.
    • More stuff: Recents window closer to stock, fixes for overlapping elements, framework fixes, no crashes, working Phone (looks 100% like stock aswell), etc.
    • Included A2SD (see 2nd post for more info)

Download for Magldr/cLK : (Clean install always recommended !)

SD ROM users can check out the Nand port of wis1152

    MODS :

Check out the MOD thread by gogodu5sU for some great MOD stuff..
Check this thread by shayne77 for some cool battery mods and read the instructions on how to apply them ! (these will probably work on any CM9 rom for the ones interested)

    Buglist and Fixes :

    • When using different kernels don't forget to use this roms ramdisk (initrd.gz) otherwise your WIFI won't work..
    • OTA tool is not ready/compatible with our HD2 yet.. Don't use it for updating the rom !

    FAQ For PARANOIDANDROID :

Configuration: Select from a list of presets a desired configuration. Reqires reboot

Default Mode: Is used by default on any non-defined app installed by user. Defines whether to start apps on phone or tablet mode. Reqires reboot

User default DPI: Is used by default on any non-defined app installed by user. Reqires reboot

Framework-res DPI: Framework DPI. Is used on lockscreen, toast, and overall all resources on the system. Reqires reboot

SystemUI DPI: System graphic interface density, can be reflected on statusbar, Recent apps, etc. This one can’t get you outside of your current mode. Reqires reboot

    Some other facts:
    • Statusbar transparency, navbar configuration, sense recent apps, are only available on phone mode. Statusbar transparency also requires Statusbar hardware acceleration to be enabled
    • Don’t mess with build.prop density is completly unuseful now and can only mess your phone (making it look ugly).
    • It’s recommended to use all launchers on Phone mode, and highest density (240 for HDPI, or 320 for XHDPI). If DPI’s are lower that some magic values, it may cause crashes when using themes.
    • Disable Settings > System > Statusbar > Auto Hide Statusbar. Use toggle instead (Only needed on HDPI devices).
    • If you see the dock on launchers in Tablet mode, and not the old layout, this IS NORMAL, it was ugly before, and now it’s preset to phone mode at stock phone density (240 for SGS2 based ROM’s or 320 for Nexus based ROM’s). If you want to get the old ugly tablet mode for launchers, go to Settings > Paranoid Settings > Hybrid settings > List apps, select your launcher, lower density a bit and put in on tablet mode. You can also do this if you want Tablet mode launcher in Phone mode.

Don't forget to check out the HTC HD2/ParanoidAndroid FAQ (credits : Szczepanik)
