Hello,

And thanks Xylograph et al. for yesterday's posts re:TiB restore.
I am in the middle of re-installing everything by hand... quite a long journey, but so far everything is fine! And I am in love with this ROM... :)

My today's question! ;)
Is wifi tethering (hotspot) working with v1.4a?
It seems it is not working for me but I don't see any corrective patch in the OP.
In the OP there's a corrective patch for v0.6, but nothing for later versions...

Any help?

And another one...
Did anybody succeeded in flashing another kernel, like Dorimanx' or Marc1706's?
I tried both; Marc's would boot but wifi not working although it uses Paranoid's initrd.gz.
With Dorimanx', if I use Paranoid's initrd.gz, the ROM does not boot at all; if I use Dorimanx' initrd.gz it does boot, but Wifi is not working...

The reason for me to flash another kernel, is that Tytung's does not support fast charge.
For example, with my 1A wall charger: Dorimanx kernel charges @800mA whereas Tytung's kernel charges @400mA max.
That would not be a big issue, except that in the car, I have a 500mA charger; with Tytung's kernel, it charges @200mA, which is not enough when I need to have BT calling + Google Navigation, GPS ON + Music... The battery keeps discharging, which is not good...

Thanks
+1. though I think we must ask @Tytung to enable that feature.

Go to paranoid --->hybrid mode--->list of apps and turn youtube app to phone ui

THanks for that tip, fixed the app problem right away.

But, for the web browser youtube its still crashing. Not that big of a deal now the app works, but just for some leads (help) if your scratching your head

http://pastebin.com/pan1nzYf

Hopefully something in there can point you in the right direction.

And weird but I got these errors (in the web browser) before I changed the you-tube app to phone ui

http://pastebin.com/91v27iTG

That code is the same that Sense4 throws when trying to boot with working sound files. Weird deja vu. Sound works fine here. But, now that I changed the you-tube app to phone ui, I get the log I posted first up there ^^. Maybe browser UI shouldnt be in tab mode either, could fix that too maybe. Will report back if it does.

I've just tried UrDroid and was perfectly stable, so returned to Paranoid and again: it has frozen while downloading TotalCommander (from ghisler.com) using Opera.
Suspect the temperature is the culprit (in these summer days). There must be something in this version what warms chip too much, after switching off and waiting so for 10 minutes the boot is possible.
Could other version of kernel be installed over this Paranoid? Where to download it from? It would be beneficial to test if it helped...

Hi Xylo,

I have been a happy user of Paranoid ROMs (as well as Icecreamtosti) and really enjoy all your releases. Have been using Amarullz a2sdx all these while with all your ROMs without any single problems and have been able to install 300+ apps without any hiccups. But the latest in-built app2sd is giving me a lot of issues including hotreboots and want to remove it from the setup before flahsing. Is "10apps2sd" file in system\etc\init.d is the only one I need to remove to uninstall this functionality? Or are there any other file to be removed? Kindly let me know...

EDIT: The point is I want to use Amarullz script and using it along with the inbuilt script (even when disabled) is giving issues. That's why...

EDIT2: I think I'll test it further, since it's something I always wanted to have - an inbuilt a2sd support in your ROMs. So, after testing this over the weekend further, I'll request for your help.

EDIT3: I am amazed by the crispness of this latest rlease. Awesome! Xylo and Paranoid team, as usual....

Any fix for Google Play giving "Server Error"?

I have tried wiping dalvik cache, clearing play catche, market enabler, vpn - however I couldn't connect to the vpn.vpnreactor.net (I have an active account). I have also downloaded modded market in .apk file with no result.

And btw, when I'm receiving a phone call my mp3 ringtone doesn't work, but it works in fake call manager

Error 942

Hello,

I had error 941 (or 921 I don't remember) some days ago, it was after flashing 1.4a and restoring accounts with TB.

To resolve this problem, I had to delete my account in parameters / accounts and synchronization, and reopen my account by play store.

Hope it helps,
Franky

Hi Xylo, for installing the rom I had no problems and I enabled a2sd terminal as you explained, but the space is dramatically reduced and I couldn't, from titanium, finish installing my applications; I state that I have moved as far as possible manually, but this work was pointless ... I tried to do various installations with amarullz script, and with this I solved the problem of space but I took away the ability to receive calls ... what I suggest

Hi Xylo, I flashed the rom again but without triggering a2sd 1.4 but I replaced it with a new script, always amarullz, think what you had was ruined ... that being said I have to say that everything works great and my applications are again on the phone.
personally I find it very well with the work which the script fulfills amarullz, and you wonder to yourself: why you can't put already in the rom? the partition sd both ext3 and ext4 are recognized very well and personally the rom does not reduce his speed and fluidity. Thanks for your work you do for all of us

    PARANOIDANDROID ICS HD2

This rom is based on the great work of team paranoidandroid
and the unoffical CyanogenMod 9 Nightlies from cmhtcleo team so all credits and thanks to them in the first place !

    n1os36.jpg

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone.
For more information about PARANOIDANDROID please check this website

    Features :

    • P.A.L., First time in Android history that Per-App-Layout has been realized
    • This rom features a setting called Per-App-Density. You can define an apps native DPI with it, make it look stock, smaller or bigger than that, your decision.
    • All apps are depicted at DPI 182 per standard. No other rom has that feature right now
    • Google Play does not allow density changes and will stop working if you mess around with that. This rom fixes that problem for you 100%.
    • More stuff: Recents window closer to stock, fixes for overlapping elements, framework fixes, no crashes, working Phone (looks 100% like stock aswell), etc.
    • Included A2SD (see 2nd post for more info)

Download for Magldr/cLK : (Clean install always recommended !)

SD ROM users can check out the Nand port of wis1152

    MODS :

Check out the MOD thread by gogodu5sU for some great MOD stuff..
Check this thread by shayne77 for some cool battery mods and read the instructions on how to apply them ! (these will probably work on any CM9 rom for the ones interested)

    Buglist and Fixes :

    • When using different kernels don't forget to use this roms ramdisk (initrd.gz) otherwise your WIFI won't work..
    • OTA tool is not ready/compatible with our HD2 yet.. Don't use it for updating the rom !

    FAQ For PARANOIDANDROID :

Configuration: Select from a list of presets a desired configuration. Reqires reboot

Default Mode: Is used by default on any non-defined app installed by user. Defines whether to start apps on phone or tablet mode. Reqires reboot

User default DPI: Is used by default on any non-defined app installed by user. Reqires reboot

Framework-res DPI: Framework DPI. Is used on lockscreen, toast, and overall all resources on the system. Reqires reboot

SystemUI DPI: System graphic interface density, can be reflected on statusbar, Recent apps, etc. This one can’t get you outside of your current mode. Reqires reboot

    Some other facts:
    • Statusbar transparency, navbar configuration, sense recent apps, are only available on phone mode. Statusbar transparency also requires Statusbar hardware acceleration to be enabled
    • Don’t mess with build.prop density is completly unuseful now and can only mess your phone (making it look ugly).
    • It’s recommended to use all launchers on Phone mode, and highest density (240 for HDPI, or 320 for XHDPI). If DPI’s are lower that some magic values, it may cause crashes when using themes.
    • Disable Settings > System > Statusbar > Auto Hide Statusbar. Use toggle instead (Only needed on HDPI devices).
    • If you see the dock on launchers in Tablet mode, and not the old layout, this IS NORMAL, it was ugly before, and now it’s preset to phone mode at stock phone density (240 for SGS2 based ROM’s or 320 for Nexus based ROM’s). If you want to get the old ugly tablet mode for launchers, go to Settings > Paranoid Settings > Hybrid settings > List apps, select your launcher, lower density a bit and put in on tablet mode. You can also do this if you want Tablet mode launcher in Phone mode.

Don't forget to check out the HTC HD2/ParanoidAndroid FAQ (credits : Szczepanik)

    A2SD:

As of v1.4a A2SD is included (credits to Andrew Sutherland aka texasice)
To enable it after installing the ROM, open up terminal in the app drawer and type:

    • su
    • a2sd install
    • Choose your options (leaving data/data on system is recommended)
    • (Y) to reboot
    Available commands are:

    Code:
    install : sets a2sd flag
    remove : clears a2sd/dc2sd flags
align : runs zipalign on all apks
fixapk : runs fix_permissions on all apks
partlist : shows if ext[3/4] is supported
diskspace : shows disk usage on /sd-ext
    cachesd : sets dc2sd flag
    cleancache: clears dalvik-cache
nocachesd : cleancache and clears dc2sd flag
    xdata : bind mount /data to /sd-ext/xdata
    noxdata : clears xdata flag
    formatext : format /sd-ext to ext4
checkext : checks /sd-ext for errors
