2XL issues - see for yourself

As soon as the Pixel 2 XL was available in Verizon stores I had to get one in my hands. I was very disappointed in what I saw and I was very honest about it in all of my previous posts about it. It worried me and I even considered cancelling my order. I didn't, and I'm very glad I didn't. This phone is great, display and all (only after turning off "adaptive brightness"). Yes, there is blue tint when you look at the phone from the side but how often are you looking at your phone off-axis? I never do. If you do then maybe it isn't for you. It was news to me just a week ago that my 6P I had for two years has the blue tint!

I'm sure you'll now see mostly negative posts about the screen from people that either do not own the phone or like to troll. If people that are happy with the phone are like me, they are not going to revisit the threads bashing the display because they won't care. I know I only return to check on root status.

So you can live happily ever after with your 2XL or you can bash it all over the net.. I don't care either way but I think you should see it for yourself before giving up on it. Most will be happy they did. What is there to lose? Send it back if you don't like it.

They are not trolling, it can be a case by case basis. Obviously, you noted the one you saw at the store disappointed you... And, the one you have now is fine. The one I saw in the store was fine. But, what you need to watch out for is the image retention/burn in in the next few weeks.

Yes, people need to wait until their unit arrives before jumping ship or not.

I'vve had it for more than a day now and I'm happy with the phone. Battery life is amazing..... I hope I don't get the burn in issues that have been appearing for some but otherwise this phone is awesome. I have no problem with the display then again I'm not very picky, I think it looks good.

Yep, I was definitely disappointed but that was discussed in depth previously. I'm confident the retail demo mode and/or adaptive brightness setting was causing it. I would have been the first to return it if the screen was actually bad.

As for the burn in, I think it's another overreaction to ghosting. You'll see the same results on most phones doing the same test and it's not permanent. People don't want to hear that, though.. And if it does become an issue next month, next year, 2 years down the road, it's Google we're dealing with. You'll most likely get a brand new phone or full refund even 2 years from now if it takes that long for the issue to start. I did. They sent me a Pixel XL 128 for a battery issue with my 2 year old 6P 64.

Thank you for getting my point. People should quit worrying and form their own opinion.
