Got it, thanks to misty356. I think I was over thinking it instead of just dragging and dropping.

Just started trying to sideload though and ran into an error:

Verifying current system ...
"/system/xbin/dexdump" has unexpected contents.
E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Not sure what that is but will re-read through the thread. I had restored to MJ5 previously, but may need to do it again with all of the attempts at getting the update to take. Sucks that it will likely wipe my phone, but oh well. Thankfully I don't have much on there.
Start from step 1 it has to be restored

That's what I figured, sucks to wipe my phone, but oh well, almost done now and ready to follow your steps in the first post! Boy do I wish I had my Xperia back (replace Xperia with any of the past half dozen phones I have owned)!!

Edit: Looking like it is taking the update now, something I did while trouble shooting must have changed a file somewhere that was causing it to fail. Followed the restore to MJ5 again, then NB4 OTA update, and finally used the ADB sideload option to update to NC2.

Thank you very much OP!!

I was able to upgrade to NC2 without a problem...however...

I had rooted my phone with kingo because for some strange reason I could not change permissions on the system/bin directory to change the mobicore file, and I was able to after root before i started this tutorial

Now I cannot remove the Super SU app after the KK attempting a factory restore brom both the bootloader and the settings menu

I said well let me try to reflash the phone...

ODIN no longer recognizes the phone, doesnt even show up on two different computers

Anyone had any sucess, kingo reports back no root but the isis app states the phone is rooted, how can I remove the kingo root manually, anyone have a detailed list of files???

The phone works well, now im trying to un-naughty the phone, out of ideas...

If the super user app is there I don't think there's a way to remove it since we can't root kk yet. Only way is to wait until we get the kk Odin files to be able to restore.

My method does not leave behind any files and is 100% stock though so you didn't follow my guide to do it

It's best to do a full wipe between big updates anyway. At least that's always worked well for me.

Your method is quite convinient, just not kingo removal friendly, but all went through smooth. No issues here, probing alternate ways to disable the root , will post if successful.

I was on kingo root on mine before i followed this thread's instructions, no root leftovers
Honestly there is not a trace of root left on the phone imo, its just the presence of the superuser app that disables isis wallet from working, it was sent to the /system/app folder, disabling the app doesnt help either...still probing

Start from step 1 and read everything. If you follow exactly what it says it will work.
I did do everything from step one. Took forever lol, my phone did ota update nb4 with no problems and now it's all stock 4.3. But when I try to flash the file it gives me that 7 error package.zip blah blah. I guess I'll try to just to do the ota kit kat when I get home from work in the morn.

What are you doing when you get that error? Tell me step by step.

I put the 2 extracted fix files in the internal sd card, then the other ota update.zip file on the external sd and run recovery and flash it
