The 3.5mm jack is trash on the X3
You can see a test here with real numbers: https://www.lesnumeriques.com/telephone-portable/poco-x3-nfc-p59695/test.html
So it's not just your unit, it's all of them :(
Notebookcheck.net says that headphone jack is good on Poco X3 and they showed it with test pictures.

I quote: "The 3.5-mm audio port of the Poco X3 leaves a very good impression. The sound output is very linear and at 91.16 dBFS"

Here's review: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Poco-...pment-champion-in-the-mid-range.498021.0.html

I can say that 3.5mm quality is good, but not better than ZTE Axon 7, which I expected. But Poco X3 drives my M50x's much louder that Axon 7 though you can notice distortion at max volume. Overall, I'm happy with audio performance of this phone, it even has better speakers with more bass which is amazing.

Well it's Hi-Res certified

Well it's official that it's both speakers are Hi-Res certified. And the signal is traveling through the DAC, so it means it has atleast 24bit/192KHz quality.

You can go and check on the official poco website.

I resolved this issue by using an adapter for iphones

I was really hoping to get at least normal headphones output from poco x3, its a poco device, no? I've used poco f1 for 2 years now, sound output from 3.5mm jack was nice and loud (at least), im using it with blon-03 and sound is, man, i cant listen to it more than a few minutes (ear fatigue is horrible). Can't believe that anyone didn't noticed this BIG issue.. cmon i havent heard such a bad sound EVER. Tried to use xiaomi's headphone presets, equalizer, sound calibration.. not even close .. after a few days (after update) tried it once more, aaand flashback, sound is simply said non usable. NO BASS, MIDS PAINFULLY SHARP, EAR PIERCING HIGHS.

im deeply disappointed, if this ENORMOUS issue is due low quality 3.5mm jack... not just software (writing this with fisical PAIN in my ears)
I solved this same issue by using an adapter. Seems that this phone requires old earphones for iPhone. To use Android/Nokia earphones, it's required an adapter. There's a little difference in the order in the poles of the plug for both types of phones.

You can get the adapter in the famous chinese store. Seach for "CTIA to OMTP".

Greetings.

I've tested mine after seeing this thread. In my unit either the jack is damaged or there's a software problem, with my Sony STH30 the volume is very low. Even on the highest level its extremely low.
When connecting my Shennheiser HD 4.50BTNC with cable, the headphones are not even recognized.

If sound quality via wired headphones is important to you, I can't recommend you this phone. Sound quality is miles better on my old Mi A1.

I just bought a POCO X3. Indian version, without NFC. I was alarmed to read about the problem some people seem to be experiencing with the 3.5mm jack. So, that's one of the first things I tested with my headphones. I use the Sennheiser HD598 and Audio Technica ATH M50x. Both are working fine. I could hear the music loud and clear. When I installed the Hiby music app, it played my Hi Res DSD files, and the sound quality improved. I am a happy customer.
