The adjustments for s9 pie, are those across the line or just spesific to the s9 download?

Basically I'm on an s8+ phone with the new beta pie rom and I desperately want to clean it out, wondering if this is the best solution at the moment?

And for the s9 pie yes for all as far as i know every device that has pie with those apps will be deleted if chosen ofc from what i understand the s8 pie beta is s9 based? And i understood from a friend that you cant download apps from play store in pie beta (don't know if true or why but that's what my friend said)
Anyway you can use it for pie my apps are adjusted to pie if the rom comes with them they will get debloated
When February comes i will see if any other devices gets pie and will do v11 for them

One "issue" though, if I remove Samsung calendar in your aroma setup, that also removes the calendar sync (maybe it's meant to?). Anyways, installing any other calendar therefore subsequently fail to work.

If I leave Samsung calendar in debloater aroma I get to keep calendar sync in ROM and I get all other calendars to work. I can then freeze or uninstall the Sammy calendar using TiBU, and keep the calendar sync that way, but I'd rather be able to do it through debloater.
Please consider separating them in your next version of the aroma installer.

Yea, I left all the Google sync stuff in, because I figured that was what would keep calendar sync intact (which it should), so I was surprised as it didn't sync and didn't show up under account sync in settings when I removed only Samsung calendar. I reckon you're right that it's the calendar provider..

Tested in aroma:
All Google sync stuff + Samsung calendar = working calendar sync
All Google sync stuff - Samsung calendar = not working calendar sync

I will do the test with removing calendar provider as soon as I have a chance, but I've gotta wait til I'm at home since I'm out traveling now and need stable calendar for work atm.

Edit: so I did test with freezing in stead of deleting, see screenshots in next post. If I freeze the calendar storage (I don't have a "calendar provider") that is installed with Samsung calendar, I loose the calendar sync under my account settings and calendars break.

Appreciate you tested for me and yes it's the provider (the storage app is provider if you will see the path) anyways i will move it to google calendar sync then so that if ppl don't want sync delete that also again appreciate the testing in v11 (as said i will see if in February any other devices gets pie then will adjust more, the app and release)

Hi! I'm using Your debloater and I would like to report something. I have used the basic script for s8 on Alexis Pie beta 7.2. After removing FACTORYCAMERA_FB the camera stopped working. After checking logcat I found that there is also one file missing in /system/lib - libgnustl_shared.so The camera started to work again after restore both the FACTORYCAMERA_FB and libgnustl_shared.so.
I have to admit that basic script is very powerful tool! I'm impressed. I have left 10 apps maybe (trash all the rest) and the system is much faster and smoother than before.

It'd probably help if you provide details as to device, operative system, setup, any changes to script before flashing or if it's flashed as is, twrp version, etc.

And if you pull a logcat from the settings crash it'll enable seeing what actually causing the crash on your device.

Sorry for late response, after some more researching I found that there were some more libs missing:
-libgnustl_shared.so (this one I found in the beginning)
-libnative-lib.so
-libc++_shared.so

I don't know what triggered removing those, since they are not mentioned in the script. Perhaps it is just as You said, new Samsungs "security feature"

Ok, I have tested it once again and it seems that after deleting FACTORYCAMERA_FB camera works. It's kinda weird for me and I'm a little bit confused now
I have been using Basic Debloater of s8 on Alexis Android P beta 7.2.
Unfortunately I don't have aroma folder anywhere in /system - have searched everywhere!
Another thing is that uploading things here on XDA is almost impossible recently, so You have it on my GDrive with installation log. It's to big to paste into the thread, would only make a mess.
If there is anything you want me to provide or test I'm looking forward to it.
And of course if you have some free time I'd really like You to elaborate more

I have clean flashed Soldier9312s PIE BETA 3.0 and right after the end of setup wizard I have flashed Your latest aroma debloater. Everything works silky-smooth :victory:
No camera errors and no other errors at all. I had to debloat manually a little more, I think that some package names are a little bit different in PIE. My result is 173 system apps starting from around 324. And the system is stable! Thanks once again!

Basic debloater doesnt have aroma folder since it's a basic script does basic job, aroma debloater gives you aroma folder makes since lol
For the camera then now matter how you debloat there are no issues with camera? if so then all good as for apps paths tell me their paths and i will add them in next update
And as for the explanation you wanted here it is
I made the latest aroma debloater safest as can be and i added a new page so that if people wants to replace samsung apps with google or remove extra bloat at their own risk they can i did that you will be able to skip it if they dont wanna enter and if they do they need to click it then hit next and i did the letters in red so that people will understand by the color it depends on the users choise, and as for the basic i tried my best to do that the basic will be the same as aroma as for safest apps + their info and organizing them into group and explained how to do that if you want to prevent one app from being deleted you can with easy # i tried my best to do it easy as possible hopefully i succeeded ofc i didn't add some apps like the last menu and a bit more it's suppose to be suitable for almost all users i tried to make it that way aroma debloater has aroma system folder basic don't because it's basic does basic job
I hope i explained what you wanted and helped you with this information if you want me to elaborate more on something else tell me and i will try my best to help

Yes I know that, was looking for aroma folder to find ROM installation log, hoping to find applist and paths.
I'll provide paths for You, some of them You can find in the zip from my GDrive. I had to restore one app-UnifiedWFC which is responsible for wificalling.
Is there anything I should be aware of if I would like to add some apps to basic debloater?
