i went with the black 3a as the xl wasnt really worth the extra $80+ whatever it would have added to the tax. they have the same cam, soc, ram, and storage. all the xl has over the non is .4in bigger screen, and 700mah for the battery. the 3a actually has a higher resolution and ppi over the xl. so you need to ask yourself is the .4in bigger screen and 700mah worth $80+ to you

It wasn't. I bought the white 3a from Best buy! So far loving it. Size is perfect!

Nope. I bought a non-XL too! :)

Since there was literally no difference other than the battery from the 3a and 3axl I went with the 3a,,,just easier to deal with and lighter. If there was a substantial difference I would have gone with the xl but there wasnt.

Used both, 3a standard much better. The XL feels cheaper, and the 3a just feels perfect on hand.

Got my mum the Purple-ish, which is actually really nice, and I got myself the white one.

The only reason why you'd get the XL is if you want to watch a lot of content on it and don't mind the bulk, as spec wise they're practically the same, it was rumoured the bigger sibling would have a slightly higher processor, but it doesn't. So just a matter of size

Trading my 2 xl for a 3a. Couldn't stand the idea of getting a bigger phone, and the screen size of the 3a is not terrible. Also the ppi is better. Curious how the battery life will be
Exact same move I made. So far, I'm happy

3a here for pretty much the same reasons...

I'm on T-Mo so I bought a used Pixel (original unlocked) on Swappa and used it for a $400 trade-in. The $129 I spent on the used is all I'll have to pay :D
Nice move!

I got the XL, battery always matters and at that PPI it's the screen dimensions rather than density that guide my choices. The cost was not a factor because the real cost is at least 100 less than MSRP when that pricing is widely available on day one. This makes the actual cost 299 and 370 (or less) which makes it relatively affordable: For comparisons sake my Nexus 1 was 370 back then and I paid 359 for the XL the other day. I don't BTW see a dog in this hunt, with this pricing they're both compelling options.

Too hard to say at this point. Most of us have only had the phone for a day or 2. Seems good so far. Idle and active drain is low. I'll update. I have the non xl version.

Thanks. Very interested in this. Maybe I sell my OnePlus 6t for this 3A.

What interested me most was the smaller form factor and the plastic back to be honest. I enjoy being back on a phone that is manageable with one hand. Also, from the teardown I saw it looks easy to replace parts yourself.

I went with the white 3a from Best buy, unlocked. Got $100 off plus 100 dollar gift card, basically making it $199....it's worth every bit of that ( I did break it less than 24 hrs after buying though....alcohol and steps were involved)

This is exactly what my son did. He had a N6P--and really liked it but said it was not one-handed friendly for him. Further, when traveling--esp on his bike, the 6P was a bit too big. If he has to change the battery on the 3a (as he did on the 6P due to the defect), it shouldn't be the PITA the 6P was around that camera glass. The 6P was always too big for me. We both ordered 3a's.
