Vodafone Spain (from Eclair rom, but seem to work for Froyo too): freq_E_ES_VF2.22.0-850-1700-2100-signed.zip
^ this one worked for me (I'm in Spain). I flashed JBoogie's LiquidArc ROM (this one, is Froyo) and noticed that I only had phone signal when in HSDPA range (weird, huh?). No HSDPA = red cross :( After flashing the file i have G and 3G again :)

It's weird because I have flashed lots of different ROMs and never had a problem like this.

That just happened to me with chinese rom, i got it temporarily fixed switching data connection manually to "only 2g" and i got 4 bars, only 3g = red cross. Flashing Baseband fixed it all.

it seems India and SEA (South East Asia) have a different frequencies.
India = 850 / 2100
SEA = 900 / 2100
(according to this: http://www.and-developers.com/sbf:defy)

but in 1st post, it says India + SEA.
i lived on Indonesia, part of SEA.
i've try that fix months ago, and resulting a bad reception signal.

so, now.. i have a stock Indonesian (SEA) nandroid backup eclair 2.59 from my friend
with unyaffs, i extract these files from \system\etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default
and repack it to signed update zip.

here:
SEA Frequencies Fix (from Indonesian stock eclair 2.59)
http://www.mediafire.com/?97s8vl7e1lkqn3v

maybe it helps people who live on SEA region,
which have a bad signal reception after flashing different region SBF or froyo custom rom.

Choose according to your country and carrier frequencies, not the rom.

Choose according to the actual hardware you have, regardless of how well that matches up with your carrier's actual frequencies. Otherwise the performance of all bands, even 2g, may be degraded.

Anyone know the best settings for US AT&T? Depending on which ROM I am on, I can run into 3G issues. 3Gfix resolves it on most of the, but not all (mainly CM7) so I'd like to get the settings for a manual setup.

Which fix you used?
U tried the Defy Basbandswitcher provided in the CM7 Beta 4?

I've tried it; however, it doesn't list the bands, just the providers. I could go through the list testing each provider, but that does seem to me to be a very good solution long term.

If you have a T-Mobile USA phone, use the fix for T-Mobile USA. Regardless of the fact that you're on AT&T.
Thank you, but are you sure?
I guess my concern is that it is my understanding T-Mobile uses 850/2100 while AT&T uses 850/1900. Are there tweaks used by, for example, Argentina which also uses the 1900 range that would make it a poor choice and make T-Mobile a better one? Just trying to understand...

Yes I am sure. The radio hardware of the T-Mobile USA 850/AWS/2100 phone is different from the radio hardware of the Argentina 850/1900 version. Your phone does not support the 1900 3G band, no matter what; the only 3G it can get on AT&T will be on 850, and the best performance will be with the correct 3G files.

If you try and flash the Argentina 850/1900 3G fix to the T-Mobile USA phone, you will just get a phone that has an incorrect match between the hardware and the radio firmware. You will probably see degraded performance on both 3G and EDGE as a result. The only baseband files you should put on your phone are the ones that match its hardware.

On my Thai Defy I installed the Chinese 3G fix to enable 900 MHz 2G networks. Without the fix only 1800 MHz 2G and both 850 MHz and 2100 MHz 3G networks worked. Is there however a way to enable 900 MHz 3G without losing 900 MHz 2G reception? Or is this simply not possible on a phone not made for 3G at 900 MHz?
