Here in Minneapolis on the G2, I often lose 3G inside buildings (switches to Edge). I never had that problem on AT&T. Does the T-Mobile 1700 3G Band not penetrate buildings as well as the AT&T 3G bands?

There are a number of factors for this.

- Phone reception
- When your local network is set to switch over to 3G
- 3G network maturity/Investments
It's not the same across different cities (networks are built out differently) or phones, HTC in general has been mediocre to acceptable depending on the device. Lock 3G if you must.

How do I lock 3 G on the G2?

Damn I miss pittsburgh but anway...

In Houston ATT kills T-mobile. I have both services. Constantly having problems with signal and I'm just 2 bloccs from the tower yet no problems with ATT and the speed is incredible. Just depends on your area.
