samsung epic 4g touch fits perfectly at 1800mah. Only downfall is a custom kernel with 3rd party battery monitoring removed is needed

Some would consider using a custom kernel a benefit rather than a downfall

I just got a seidio battery for my telus samsung galaxy s fascinate... And it's not charging at all. Had it in the phone and plugged into the charger all night last night. The charge went down to zero % and then when I unplugged the phone, it shut itself off due to the lack of charge. My phone is stock with no roms added, just the firmware upgrades. I'm at a loss.
Aftermarket batteries can't be charged in the phone with any charger, UNLESS, you run a custom kernel, that removes the factory battery check. So if you insist on keeping your phone stock you'll want to pick up an external charger and rotate between batteries, or buy the factory batteries.

It is allmost twice as thick, but it feels so nice in my hand. I like the thickness

That's what she said,
Jk,
but in all seriousness I bought one of the 3500mah batteries off of ebay, and they definitely work better than stock, and charge fine in the fascinate. Being a power user, so I've never been able to get the two days of usage that some people claim, but usually it'll add a good 2 hours or so.

which brand?

OK for starters i am running the latest miui ROM and loving it. for the battery it wont work on my wife's phone with a older ROM cant remember what she has on it.
for the battery i was getting about no more then 8 hours running Pandora all day at work now i can get about 2.5 days on one charge with going to work and listing to pandora for 2 days at work. so i think if you pick a good rom that supports it go for it :)
Fill us in on the details, such as
Maker, Model Number, who you bought it from, etc..
Can you buy a second battery only; without having to get another back cover -- seidio only sells kits, so you are stuck with an extra cover...

I was looking at Gorilla Gadgets 3500mah myself. Don't really know anything about it other than what's posted on their site.

For information's sake,

I use a Naztech 2400mAh Extended .

I use it primarily on my own phone with Superclean rom, but have swapped it into my wife's stock rooted Fascinate with no issues.

I charge it roughly every other night, sometimes longer, with normal usage.

I got a true cell 3600mah off Amazon, came with back cover (battery is twice as thick as stock) and a usb cable. Says right on the battery that its compatible with i500. However im using nits superclean 3.5 and tksgb custom kernel so I can't say for certain if its a stock replacement or not, but it seems to last almost 3x as long as the ****ty 1500mah the phone came with.

I like to use a silicone case for grip, I'm afraid that if I get an aftermarket battery with a replacement back cover, my case won't fit... are any of you using cases with these larger batteries, and if so do you just buy them for a different phone or do some made for the fascinate fit? thanks!

I found a couple on amazon, will possibly buy. There's one that is a 2 pack of 2000mAh batteries (that seem to be the same size as a normal one) plus a wall charger for them.. seems legit. will do more research but more life would be nice.

Just bought a 2x 1800mAh pack with charger, brand is Anker. Reviews seem really good, it should arrive early next week and I will post back here. It was only 20 bucks for the whole shebang, seems like a pretty good price for what you get.

I must've forgotten how to search because I can't find which S II batteries fit in the Fascinate. Had an Epic 4G battery for a while but it's now past its life -- will randomly shutoff. FYI if you leave the phone in a dock while on for an extended time, as in weeks/months, it will run through the life charge cycles of the battery quickly. I'm looking at a T-Mobile Hercules on amazon that's only $7

What you don't know is the older the thread the more likely to get a response. See, you already replied!

From this thread it shows the Skyrocket battery doesn't fit in the Fascinate http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13087-sgsii-skyrocket-battery-1850mah-with-fascinate/. I am making a baseless assumption that since the Skyrocket was a GSM device its battery is probably similar to the Hercules. So, guess we should consider it lucky at least the Epic 4G battery fits the Fascinate.

The Fassy feels so fat with the 3500 mah battery...I like the long life but I don't like the heft...
with the extra weight, I am less likely to sit on it or throw it across the room. to each their own I guess.

I have to have atleast 1 1/2-2 days of usage so I can survive a weekend without having to search for a power outlet. sometimes I get 2-3 days between battery swaps.
