newbie here, can someone direct me as to where can I get S3/S4 mms type style (preferably without avatars both in the conversation and list) and S3/S4 dialer/contacts for Nexus S? Help would be appreciated.

If you are on a cm based rom try extracting avatar roms sms/mms app it's like you described without avatar in sms, but if you are on aosp try taking the sms/mms app from black bean 8 rom, try to backup your curent mms/sms app as I'm not sure if it will work or not

The S3 mods, yes, I was sayng of the sms app it only works from CM to CM or from AOSP to AOSP but the S3 theme and modes work for both and they work for 4.1 and 4.2 versions of JellyBean....happy flashing
