Battery issues after 4.2

Has anyone encountered battery drain issues post 4.2 update ?

I seem to have about a twice as fast drain as I had in the past.
Also, when you have the battery widget open now you can see that the dock is not charging the tablet as it always did in the past. It is almost pulling from both batteries at the same time now.

I pushed my update using Fastboot (expecting it to be fresh install) however after reboot it performed as upgrade.

Before wiping, formatting, and starting again I wanted to ask around if a known 4.2 issue ?

Thx, Sean

On the contrary, my battery life has significantly improved (circa 50 % better) now than on any previous version. The behaviour re chaging from the dock has certainly changed but I do still see the dock to tab transfer happening but less often than before. It's more as if the tab is usually charged from the dock when asleep and only happens when awake at around 60% now rather than at about 75% as before.

Surprisingly yes and now Im no longer satisfied with this update. Only noticed it today but last night before bed I put Johnny-5 (Yes I named my tablet you wanna fight about it) on its fully charged dock with maybe 30% battery. I woke up today to a dead tablet.

This would have never happened on the previous stock rom or even on CROMI/Hydro-7 with an overclock kernel. With no ps3 controller support and now this i'm ready to go back to ICS

I had serious battery issues after updating to 4.2.1 and read in another thread that a factory reset would cure it. So I gave it a shot and that fixed it for me. kind of a p.i.a. but it was worth it. Now the battery seems better than before I updated 4.2.1.

Thanks, I think I will bite the bullet, backup and do a full wipe and factory reset this weekend.

I will try to report back on if it resolves for me, as my battery was amazing before so hopefully it works.

Cheers,

ok so I take back my complaint,
If you are rooted on 4.2 use Battery Calibration on the market, fixed my issue right away and now it does seem like battery may last as long or longer than 4.1 stock.

I'm not having much of a battery issue, but this app looks great so I'm snagging it. Thanks for the mention.

I use mine too much to judge that. There's no way I could stand by for 12 days :) I do notice the battery seems to drain a little faster than before, but it still lasts me until I get back to the charger.

I am seeing this as well. I may just try and wipe to see if it helps. My dock gets drained overnight now.

I'm having battery issues as well. I used to be able to let my tablet sit for days on end with almost no battery loss. Now it dies in a couple of days. Stock not rooted.
If I turn off WiFi it will go into deep sleep. That is the only fix I have found so far.

Sure restore at your own risk, restored mine 4 hours ago and now it refuses to connect to any wifi-network :( and I really don't want to send it in for a repair because of my upcoming trip.

I did a factory reset yesterday and used the built in ASUS app backup utility to restore a backup I made prior to the reset. Everything is going great and my battery usage is back to normal. At least over night it was will need more time to make sure. The backup utility worked very well.

Note: stock and not rooted.
