For me games have been laggier since 253. Don't know if it's to do with the colour changes or something but 434 was by far the best performing rom. Maybe that's one reason why Sony mobile UK haven't gone past that rom yet.
I was hoping that 4.2 would address this problem but sadly it's still there

If u wipe the cache and dalvik cache after flashing 4.2.2,it works very smooth after it reboots and we need to reboot it atleast 3 times..u can see the difference, graphics in games are really smooth, phone doesn't heat up as much as before and the battery life is epic..standby time has increased a lot too and if u wanna upgrade to 4.2.2,its better to download the whole thing again from the sources you're familiar with ..I have downloaded .423 three times from 3 different sources and only one was fluidic..others were a little laggy at first but became really smooth after I cleared the caches and rebooted..hope this helps u..cheers :p

Hit thanks if I helped u in any way.Sent from my Killer Xperia Z(C6602) using xda premium.

Thanks man..and that is just the standby time..the battery still holds on pretty good for games and stuff..if u play many games like I do,then you'll notice that the battery lasts a bit longer on 4.2.2 than the previous versions and the phone doesn't heat up to alarming levels now..I guess they tweaked the overheat control BUT during extreme heating cases,if you're playing a game,it tends to become laggy sometimes maybe due to underclocking..overall a very nice update..:)

That still results in lag for some people. Including me.

No, because it won't do anything. :D
Dalvik cache was wiped when I upgraded with the PCC anyway. That is why the "Android is upgrading" message is displayed on first boot as the Dalvik cache is being rebuilt.
As the Dalvik cache was wiped, I assume the cache was as well (it should have been as part of a proper upgrade process anyway) . Even if not, wiping cache has never ever fixed any problem I've had when people have suggested it. :)
I will live with it anyway, at least until the UK generic software is released or a patch, whichever is first ;)

Well...then everything seemed smoother on my xz after 3-4 reboots that I did after wiping all the caches..aren't they interrelated?

Actually, after I posted I decided to clear the cache through the settings menu on the phone as I don't have a custom recovery installed (settings-storage-select cache and confirm delete).
It was quite large (768MB).
I didn't even reboot after doing it and the phone does seem much snappier than it was. :)

I tried going back to 4.1.2 from 4.2.2 due to bluetooth not working with my car on 4.2.2, but after reflashing it just sat in a reboot loop. How did you downgrade to 4.1.2?

Via flashtool! Just did the normal steps like u should, tick the wipe "cache, dalvik & system" selected ftf DE. 253 ,start it, let flashtool did it's job and voila  that's it ;) after that, set it up,3-4x reboot for the system to set in and u redy to go

Ooou, and one other important thing not to forget mention! U must select "usb debugging on"! Wery, wery important! To do so on 4.2.2 go to settings, scroll bottom down, about phone and tick few time "build number"till u see text "you are not a developer" that is going to let u have developer options back again  hope this will help u ;)

Lol!! It says "you are NOW a developer".. And usb debugging must be on for flashtool to detect that our device is rooted so that it could run some scripts..:D
