So, Cal
Hi folks,

Wow, this is really confusing! I can't understand how such a big company like Verizon is cheating to so many people! Or, are all those pages that are doing hype around this upgrade?

And what about the news that refer to Canadian companies, I also read that customers of Telus, Bell and Rogers reported an 790MB update in their phones...

What a mess
Its Verizon, Their upgrade support pdf page even says 4.3.
The pisser is they blocked the mobile hotspot. Cant wait til we get a recovery so I can flash the old version.

We have recoveries. You can make a nandroid even over adb. Or you flash a older version with Odin.

I hope that after the update to 4.3 or 4.4 will be a better ability to move applications and data to the SD card.

When this update arrives in Europe or other countries as well? Is there any announcement or smthg?

Thanks.
The easiest way to find out is trying to google it :)
But so far there are no announcements. We only know that there will be an update.

I have the information that 4.3 is available for my S4 mini in my region, but I see no way to update in KIES 2.6. Was it pulled back, or how do I get it? Searching for clues doesn't give me any on the net.

The source of your info could be wrong. If you will peruse all models of the S4 mini in this site, nowhere could you find anyone with 4.3 firmware. :)

Yeah I figured. As I see 4.3 was pushed with all the announcements over the sites, but only few reported the problems and the pulling back didn't seem to have been popular news, hence I didn't even get this piece of information. That caused some confusion on my end.

Hope they push 4.4 soon. I put stock TouchWiz back on my S4 mini, after having used CM10.2, and battery life decreased noticeably. Way to go Samsung... 4.4 should bring more performance to the table, so I hope.

Can someone tell me how i can get this update (carrier is Fido) with my phone being rooted? Everytime i try to do the OTA update it tells me it cant because the phone has been modified.

Thanks.

As long as the phone keeps saying "modified" it is not possible to update OTA. You have to reflash the firmware to get an official device status. Then OTA will be possible again.

no 4.3 updates for S4 mini ......and never !

but directly 4.4.2 more late ! ( middle/end of April i think ,not sure ... )
how about by the end of 2014? I'm not even seeing the empty part of the glass but as they're planning on launching the s5 mini now...

two ways to escape to this madness of updating: embrace capitalism with all your heart and buy every new unit like an iPhone boy lover, or give up on this crap, forget about it and quit from smartphone-loving...

Right now I'm in the middle of this two paths
