Anyone else having issues with MMS messages on Hangouts using the CM11 nightlies? Still on 12/27 as I have not flashed 12/29. Could be a hangouts problem I suppose.

Try to disable keep wifi alive (for tracking). Maybe that's what is stopping the device from sleeping.
BTW, I did not have this issue (batt life somewhat shorter than on stock 4.1.2 however, but not that serious), but in exchange I got a host of others: signal loss, only recoverable by reboot and prayer, and camera stopping working overnight, unrecoverable by any means (only thing remaining to try being a full internal + SD wipe / reformat), however it works in stock.
I have to adhere to those having some second thoughts right now about the current state of CM11: I do love the speed, the features, the look and the feel of it, but for the moment I have switched to spectator mode for a while. XT910.
Can't speak personally on this issue as I have not installed CM11 properly yet. But I have been reading every post here and it has been documented that if you installed it correctly, a step by step guide was just published here, you can safely update from the Settings menu to 1229 and see if it makes a difference. You have to reflash the jbx kernel if you are using it, though. Safe Strap 3.6.5 is really good for this so if you make a backup first, it is very easy to revert if the update does not go well.
I already tried a dirty flash to 11 that did not go well and the Safe Strap backup easily restored my complete prior system. I am going to update as soon as I have enough time to put into it now that 1229 is out.

I have the same signal loss issue on all CM based ROMs right now as well, and it seems to be getting worse. I love the speed and features, but if the phone doesn't work, it's not usable. After all, the first priority of a smart phone should still be that it functions as a PHONE!
Yeah that is the speed i got all the time! on 3g it is like 0.60 meg and up is 0.35 meg, I have cable here in az with 50 meg down. 3 meg up. I wish i had unlimited data i only have 2gb. But when i got tired of cm10.2 not working with 3g i went back to cm10.1.3 if you want completely stable man that is it.

I had issues with MMS a few nightlies back. I had used the full gapps and it replaced the text app with hangouts.
I wiped system and reflashed CM11 and dhackers gapps and got the messaging app back and it fixed my MMS. I don't like hangouts for SMS or groups.
I never saw the messaging app disappear before. The "official Gapps does that now I guess Google wants us all to use hangouts and plus.

I like the app sliding messaging pro it is very good. You will never have any issues with mms.
I just flashed 20131229-NIGHTLY. Camera works now 
The pictures not loading on Facebook mobile is a Facebook problem, it exists on all of my devices and my gfs on mobile view/app; using chrome desktop view everything loads fine.

As for the downloading issue with CMOTA, that's your device; no problems here, I can download and flash automatically with the CM system. You might need to wipe and reflash to fix the problem. If it's persistent through multiple dirty flashes you do need to start over.

...This is your data speed, really? Dude, with speeds like that, you would be better off with two tin cans and some string. LOL! Seriously, I wouldn't even pay any company for "data" at speeds like that. Was it always this bad or did you get MUCH better speed on other roms?

Here are my test results, first one is average for past week, next 3 are last 3 tests from today. See them in the thumbnail attachments. You say you have a 2 Gb data plan, mine is unlimited. THAT is the ONLY thing keeping me on Verizon, paying $150/Mo. Sprint is offering the same thing for about half that amount. I keep unlimited data because I enjoy downloading 600 Mb ROMS in like 2 minutes and being able to watch HD Netflix and other online HD video often. Naturally, the phone has a tiny screen so watching TV or movies on it are not worth the effort. That is why the WiFi AP is so important to me. I watch this stuff on my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" screen, WiFi only with ear buds.
Caleb, the speeds you are talking about are like "dial-up". Well, not really, but comparable. It is not something I would call "broadband". Who is your provider and have you gone over your 2Gb limit and are now having your data governed way down because you exceeded your limit? What is the deal, bra? You cannot even Skype with data like that, nevermind watch any kind of youtube stuff.
Is the data always this bad? Was it a rom that took you off scale or going over your data limit? I would not even pay for data like that. Just pay for unlimited text and calls. Do tell, what is going on?

It is not only Facebook. Twitter, Instagram, pictures on the browser, etc etc all have the same problem.
And as for the downloaded thing, I flashed this ROM to a completely new slot after deleting and clearing it many times. So its not the dirty flash causing the problem.

No I have 4g lte just a little bit away from my house. and at my church we have a tower right there. I get 20 down on it and 20 up all the time. I use speediest.net app. I am on verizon lol my name and profile says i am lol. no that is the normal 3g speed here in the mountains on az.

I am back up and running a friend who was switching from a smartphone to a flip phone to save money just gave me his droid razr!!!!!!

Only with Moto X cam. Or Xposed Module Pictures2SD and will work with AOSP camera. The built in location chooser has not been baked into CM 11 as of yet but either of these solutions work.

Wow you lucky dog, you have multiple phones to play with! Well, not really. There are carrier charges on every phone, unless you are just using wifi on one or more of them. I never did figure out or read up on the whole "3G-4G" thing. I know that this 4G is really fast, broadband, better than DSL, comparable with cable. But for real, you are telling me that 3G is less than 1Mbps? I have to check this. Gimme a min to check Google on this...

I will go back and read more of that later, like I said, I have no clue what the hell 3 or 4G really means, now they mention 5G. There are genuine specs to back it up. 4G is actually a Sprint thing that adheres to the IEEE 802.16e specification. I really have to bone up on that site because I don't get this "G" thing at all, either it is fast as hell or it just plain sucks, is how it seems to me.
Well I guess I answered my own question, I really am getting 4G data, the speed tests prove it. You know, I am secretly dying inside to get this CM11 thing installed and get it right. I can't hardly wait, especially since there is a new release. I am pretty sure you can update from Settings once you install CM11 w/out having to wipe the doo doo out of everything. I really need 6-8 hours of boredom to do this and simply do not have it right now. You guys have me convinced by reading between the lines that CM11 really works, well, with a US XT912 Razr Maxx. Yeah, there are some bugs, but I am getting the impression that they are minor for the people who do it right on the right phone w/the right service and country. Which seems to be the U.S. right now.
Tell me the truth, some of the "bugs" really scare me, they would be dealbreakers if I end up with them. Do you experience any of the following? ( I am really grateful for Hakarune's comprehensive list and "How To" post. )
- WiFi Occasionally Not Connecting: Toggle Airplane Mode on & off.
- GPS not Locking: Wipe Dalvik+Cache and reboot. Open GPS Status and download GPS data and see lock.
- Occasional Complete loss of service [CDMA/Spyder]: Jump over to stock ROM (Stock Slot on SS), Wipe Dalvik+cache, Boot to Stock and acquire signal, Boot back to CM11, If doesn't fix, switch to stock slot and revert to stock and re-root with DROID RAZR Utility XT912 and reinstall SS and boot back to CM11 (it'll still be there).
So after you got CM11 installed right and updated, you have any serious issues or are you good? Thanks buddy!
I personally have never had Issue 2 or 3. I had issue 1 on 12/24 nightly (airplane mode toggle did fix) but after dirty flashing 12/29 nightly issue no longer present.

Yeah me too... Also about the phones i will be selling one. As soon as i get my cord to fix my phone lol. Also You can just switch the sim cards. 3g is like dsl. and 4g lte is like cable. 1x is like dial up. Also sprints first 4g is just a little better than 3g not much. About the bug list you posted i did not have any of those issues. the wifi maybe but to hard to tell lol. About the holes where 4g is not. Where is live we have 4g lte but it is not hear me out it is not on the verizon map yet! but we get really fast speeds sometime i have been on a friends unlimited plan wifi tether to a laptop getting a down of 30+ no problem. Also the cable company here is the provider for verizons data they give verizon unlimited fiber optics. With a max speed of 200meg or more. I talked to a cable friend he told me everything lol.

By the way 5g is not out yet it will not be to the us until 2020 and even then no it will not be available every where. It is like fiber optics one gb down.

Except for saving pics on SD the Cam is now fully functional.
The included messaging app does everything I want including selecting groups in contacts which was missing in stock JB. MMS and sending to groups as individual texts is available.
Be sure to use meta data Gapps or you will lose the messaging app.
If you need flash video there is a way to set it up with dolphin browser.
You might want to set up your data partition at 2gig if you use lots of apps.
