In my opinion V3.1.1 is stable. But, the well known imperfections (clipboard-browser crash, calendar info frame, etc.) should be fixed to recommend DN3 to someone who is intending to give it a try. When I make a recommendation to such a person, the first question raised is if bugs exist or not. Of course the answer is no primary bugs but only a few cosmetic issues. Most of the time, "a few cosmetic issues" deters the person from flashing the rom.
Although there are only a few followers of this thread are loudly asking for any possible update, I am sure that almost all of the followers (including myself) will not say no to a small Christmas gift.

Happy Christmas to all Christians, and wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year.

This message is for all those users who ask for an update of DN3 based on MK9, MKD or ML3:

We think DN3 v3.1.1 is stable enough.

We are not going to download every rom that Samsung release to see if there are changes that deserves a new rom update. We don't want to download a new rom and start checking differences every three days.
So please do us a favour and before asking us to release an update based on latest Samsung ROM make your homework and make sure that there are important changes and not just csc and modem changes.

Everybody say thank you to E-team and request different things, so now it's your time to do us a favour: we ask you to make sure that the new rom is really different or better before requesting us to update it.

I have DN3 v 3.1.1 with stock kernel, some tweaks using xposed+wanam, tw 5x5 and everything is cool and smooth! :good:
Big thanx to E-Team! Dont need update now. Maybe just some tweaks for led fading toggle and port some cosmetic stuff, such as themes for air command and system icons. But ROM is the greatest which Ive seen for amazing NOTE II!
Thanx again and enjoy xmas and happy new year!;)

You are perfectly right! The DN3 v 3.1.1 is excellent, stable, fast, and, it seems to have a Galaxy Note 3 for very cheap ! :D ;) :good:

Lot of customs roms are not for novice users that don't know how to flash a rom, so I wouldn't recommend any custom rom to someone which knowledge about cwm or Odin is 0.
The main purpose of the E-Team is to port Note 3 and it's impossible to do that without having bugs on some rom versions (although we could fix the current ones if we had time).

With that said, those bugs that you mention will be fixed when we have time. Some of those bugs are related to features or apps that we never use really... so it doesn't bother us that much and it's not a top priority for us, specially because we don't have time lately.

In a another thread senior member yahyoh reported a better performance in battery and speed in MK9
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48571091&postcount=383
some others pointed out a better stability and stronger Wifi signal.
Since the Galaxy S I9000 days every time Samsung released a new rom that new rom was blazing fast, buttery smooth, had better battery and some other things.
Samsung released lot of roms for that model and if the comments of those users were true I don't know how it's possible that the phone still had lag and the battery didn't even reach 4 hours of screen use.

I'm personally running MK9 and I don't see any performance difference. At least MK9 is almost identical to MK4 so we only will update the rom to MK9 when/if we get bored and have some spare time or if we have something big to do.

Download this Dr.Ketan's Wifi patch. and extract it.

  • Open Odin from PC, Press PDA tab and select downloaded wifi patch
  • Put device in download mode (Vol dwn + home +power)
  • Connect device and Flash
Reboot device, Now wifi should work.

3B. Who are on older bootloader and want to Flash New bootloader, skip 3A and Download this BL_MJ5_DN3 bootloader and extract
  • Open Odin from PC, Press PDA tab and select downloaded MJ5 Bootloader
  • Put device in download mode (Vol dwn + home +power)
  • Connect device and Flash
Reboot device

4.Anyone already have flashed Newbootloader and want to downgrade to older look this post

and straigh forward follow just Steps 2,3 and 4.

PS : If you need you can copy paste post to OP, no needs to add link to this post, My thanksmeter already overflowing :)

I'm confused as how to flash the MJ5 Bootloader:

Dr. Ketan says above "Press PDA tab and select downloaded MJ5 Bootloader".
Another post I found on the same subject (referenced in OP) says: "use the Bootloader button in ODIN"
(see it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46901976&postcount=741)

What's the way to do this ?
Is there a risk either way to erase my recovery ? (TWRP)

Thanks.

Do anyone ever experience the phone stop responding after a day or two, without any reboot or off/on?

It was fine before this. I cant recall anything particular except for this keyboard called Fleksy being installed. I also replace the keyboard with the one from V3, but that happened much much earlier on the 2nd Dec.

It is just weird that I can still use the phone, like launching an app or game. Once the game/app launched, nothing works. Touches dont register, and even pressing the home button does nothing. It can even happened when Im in Settings. The only thing that still works is the power button which would allows me to reboot and everything will start working again after a reboot. Memory leak?
yeah, once a week. I never reboot, can go for a week. usually it happens after an idle night, in the morning. never even considered it as an issue, because you do, need to reboot sometimes anyway. still is and I think always will be THEEEE BEST. posting with note 3 and the hand is just reaching towards note 2 dn3.to use again and get the full experience of what smooth, laggless and great overall means.

to tell you the truth, I don't even see the reason for an update for those minor, ****tie things. after what these guys did, people still DEAMAND for some more. f*** em. go out and buy note 3 if you don't think that's ebough, I did. but I bought it not because I wasn't satisfied with note 2 running on dn3v3.1.1 ota, it's just what I do. I wanted it more compact, with bigger screen, and the camera. people stop complaining over stupid ****, and think about what you had a month ago.

There is confusion about how to flash a bootloader via Odin.
To flash a bootloader file PDA Button and Bootloader Button give the same result.
Substantially it's the same identical thing.
Only one thing to say anyway.
It's the Bootloader file that installs itself into the appropriate partition because its header go straight to bootloader partition, no matter if you load it from PDA button or Bootloader Button.
Different matter is when we flash a rom. This kind of file needs to be flahsed thru PDA Button only.
So, let's say that the school says: flash bootloader thru Bootloader Button.
If you use PDA BUtton the thing is the same.
Confusion clarified forever.
...I hope... :)

Yes!
- I see more than enough to v3.1.1 functional and stable, but if you ask yourself a little,:D then his desire to Gross-team group E 2 into the OTA 3.1.1 v3.1 and 1 copy 1 single rom with full file name is taken DN3 v3.1.1. To help you right after rom update 3.1, just time consuming and inconvenient.
- Thank You E-team and the team very much! A great rom in Rom of about 10 at the same time from the XDA forum to the other, by this time (almost no errors classifieds, high stability, battery acceptable, acceptable Ram , ...).
