Simple question, Is there ANY way to make external SD card writable on stock unrooted ROM?

I can`t believe Samsung has made it!
They insist me to root my device, hence loose my warranty!

Some guy wrote in another thread that there is an app that can activate SD card access. But it probably needs root as well
And yeah it sucks. At least we have an SD slot (just ordered a 64gb card, prizes are really ok now - 128gb is way too expensive imho). And there is a workaround that needs root. I probably wouldn't have upgraded to 4.4 if there was no workaround.
