Well, I got my newly upgraded to 4G LTE Xoom back yesterday. I am extremely pleased with how quickly the process went and how well the Xoom runs after the upgrade. I never had a Verizon contract on my Xoom. I only used it on WiFi. I pulled the 4G LTE SIM card out of my Bionic and stuck it in my Xoom and fired it up, and it worked.
I really don't know what the implications are of doing this. I only left the card in the Xoom for about ten minutes, then put it back into my Bionic. I was thinking about going to the Verizon store and asking them about it, but I am sure that they will just tell me the same thing they told me before I got the upgrade...that there is no way it will work.
It seems that for people who were grandfathered into an unlimited data plan on their phone, this would allow them to move their unlimited plan to the Xoom.
On a side note, the phone still functions as a 3G smartphone with the 4G LTE SIM card removed. For those who live in a 3G market, pulling this card out should not make any difference because the LTE is disabled for now anyway.
