So it's probably another overlay file causing a conflict. That's my initial theory anyway.

tried to delete all overlay
restart
flashing via trwp or manually not working with pie

Would love to see this supported for pie, Xposed only gives bootloops on sonys ART 8.0 and pie has no xposed. Please make it happen guys.

If your rom is rooted you should be able to edit the framework-res.apk directly and make this change yourself.

off topic: also i noticed dat whenever i mod my systemui.apk on Nokia 8 Oreo 8.1, it compiles successfully but after flashing on tha fone, my wont show lockscreen and just a blank screen..... please any idea @ ticklefish?

Yeah I copied/set permissions and it didn't work buddy, I figured out karrouma has an xz1 and I have an xz1c, here's my framework.res

If the ZIP didn't work I'd need to know what the actual problem was. Was there an error message? If so what was it? What actually happened?
You're welcome to try the ZIP that comes with Tickle My Android. That's a known good that works on Oreo and Pie.
I've also used it in my deodexing tool and that works on Oreo and Pie as well.

As for the issues with modding SystemUI.apk, this could be done to so many things. It all depends on your precise process.
Try decompiling and recompiling the file without any changes, making sure to keep the same signature, then see if that flashes correctly.
If it does then you need to look at the mods you were doing.
If it doesn't then we have to look at the process you used.

Hmm, nah it didn't work for some reason, I used root explorer and set it the right way on permissions, reboot and no dice.
