Here it is! Root for 5.1.1 thanks to @djvoleur! I helped a little but he did most of the work. Thanks also goes to @g.lewarne for his work on Unikernel as a couple of their ramdisk commits were needed to get this going.

This will trip KNOX. It will. Trip. KNOX. IF YOU HAVE NOT TRIPPED KNOX YET - THIS WILL TRIP IT. ALSO - you CANNOT downgrade after you take the OTA so be sure you want it.

I hope that's clear enough? :)

Instructions:
  • After you've booted into OF7 or OFE, go to Settings > About device and tap Build number 7 times to enable Developer Mode.
  • Go back and select Developer options and turn on OEM unlocking
  • Reboot in to download mode (Power + Home + Volume Down)
  • Use ODIN to flash boot-of7root.tar
  • After your phone boots you will now have root! You may also be back on stock recovery, which is fine since we don't have a working one for 5.1.1 just yet
  • You'll notice constant messages about security issues because of KNOX and the kernel being permissive. To get rid of these, open Titanium Backup (or your personal favorite app freezing app) and freeze SecurityLogAgent.

If you have any questions, post in this thread and @djvoleur and I will be watching. And if you'd like to send any trucks full of money, I'm sure we can arrange that via PM.

ENJOY!

@g.lewarne is the unikernel dev. Glad you guys figured it out, he's been camping and not really able to download anything so grabbing your kernel source was pretty tough.

Is there a recovery for 5.1.1 yet?

Sent from my SM-G920P using XDA Free mobile app

There's a test version of TWRP here that appears to be working, nothing official yet (nothing to flash either anyways).

So this is root for the 5.1.1 update?

How can I update to 5.1.1, if I'm currently rooted on 5.0.2?

Thanks!

Yes, this is root for the OF7 update. Best way to update right now since we still don't have a stock tarball for OF7 yet is flash back to stock OE2, update, and flash this kernel for root.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Where can I find the stock OE2 update, if you don't mind me asking?

Is there any way to flash this onto an S6 Edge? 925P? Or would it need it's own specific kernel?
Needs it's own kernel...I'm waiting for a 5.1.1 stock 925P kernel...I have the kernel compiled already...

    Multi-Tasking 8+ apps on 5.1.1 (OF7)!

    1. DL this modified OF7 build.prop
    2. Delete the build.prop, and replace with the modified one you just DLed, set correct permissions (0644).
    3. Reboot.
    4. DL Kernel Auditor
    5. Enable init.d emulation.
    6. Reboot.
    7. DL this init.d script and be sure to thank @edgarf28 !!
    8. Extract the zip and copy/paste the file into /system/etc/init.d and set permissions (0755).
    9. Reboot and multi-task like a CHAMP!

Does the device go into deep sleep after root with this method? Or is the deep sleep fix needed after this? Thanks!
Deep sleep fix is already applied...
