Finally got the V10 I've been waiting on and now making use of this apparently awesome set of tweaks from warBeard_actual and I appreciate the time and effort put into all this.
I've been through the thread twice now and I'm giving the "Dangerously" version a go at the moment and wondering if anyone else can comment on the usage of that version. I don't see a lot of discussion as to what's changed exactly in that version but considering the script itself is much smaller (12.9K vs 19.2K for the "normal" script) I have to wonder what's going on. I'll take some time to look over both for the differences as it's a learning process obviously.
Also one other thing:
I saw a mention earlier in this thread talking about reducing the delay for a double-tap to wake the device in the build.prop known as:
persist.sensors.knock_delay
and that if the default of 1000 is reduced to 500 the screen should wake faster. At the moment I'm running the stock T-Mobile 30b ROM but it is rooted and I do have TWRP 3.0.2 installed and that all works just fine. But if I alter that one build.prop entry - just that one single entry - to 500 and then save it and double-verify that the build.prop has permissions of 644 (using fx File Explorer and Root Explorer as well) the V10 will bootloop.
Seems I can't alter that one build.prop entry or else it'll simply refuse to boot - I fixed the issue by replacing the build.prop with the stock one (which was saved as build.prop.bak so I'm good but I sure wonder why it won't allow me to alter that one setting, the V10 does wake kinda slow from a double-tap and I never knew it could be "sped up" in that respect.
Anyway, fantastic work on this, I just installed the "Dangerously" version and now I'll have to see how things work out over a few days.
Also: since the Dangerously version is from May 2016 and the latest updated script is from May 2017, has anyone made a test or done anything to discover if one is better than the other (in most respects)? Just curious...
