My understanding is that your phone must be in the ATT 5G certified list and from what I've seen, for the first part of 2022 only iPhone and Samsung phones will work on 5G... hopefully this phone will receive later an update that will bring 5G for ATT.
If you know different, please share... thanks

well I can tell you after owning it for a year, breaking its extremely fragile screen, and replacing it that no indeed it doesn't work on at&t 5G even though it indeed supports BOTH of their nr bands (5 & 77) because those greedy worthless anti-consumer pieces of crap don't have it whitelisted. so you get 4G and their false advertising """5g"""e (which is literally just lte with a different icon) and that's it. I swear I'm about to go to T-Mobile after being with them for 15 years at this point because of dishonest anticonsumer crap like this, and ESPECIALLY for forcing their branded phones to be un-unlockable. absolute joke.

and no it's not only Samsung and iphone, I'm actually on an unlocked moto one ace that does get real 5g despite only supporting one band (77 I think) and there are a few other motos and other brands that they've graciously allowed to use their 5g. however it's nothing to write home where I live, despite living in the ~25th largest city in the country coverage is hit and miss and speeds are miss and miss, literally no better than lte with all the fun of spottyness and unreliability. i pretty much just turn it off from the *#*#info#*#* menu, making this whole little adventure of mine 100% pointless.

Tested a new boost mobile black sim (att), and it indeed goes on n77. Wifi calling works too.

I've noticed that AT&t has a lot of phones that aren't whitelisted but with the boost Mobile black Sim which is AT&t I get 5G on my OnePlus 8 that's not a white listed device on AT&t for 5G but I did not get 5G on my Motorola edge 2021 but that was before I got really into testing it and I ended up breaking the screen too which seem to be really fragile honestly so it's sitting here and I can't play with it like I do my other phones so I got to get the screen fixed I'm waiting for the screen to ship and then once it gets here and I'll replace it and then I'll play but I'm really interested in playing with the phone now that I realize that it's got the c-bands on the device which is pretty awesome to be honest with my s20 ultra and my OnePlus 8 pro doesn't have c bands available which really sucks but they got mm wave and other things you know what I mean I just wish the Motorola would edge had mm wave available but regardless the fact that it has both bands for c-band available just makes it even more that potent of a phone and I only paid 40 bucks for it it was Google locked and I got the Google lock removed and it was an awesome phone until the screen broke.

Anyone on Red Pocket Mobile with 5G? I'm on their GSM-A (At&t) and I get no kind of 5G. Just LTE all of the time. I don't even have the option in SIM settings to allow it. I assume its my carrier, but I've had 5G on another phone with them in the past so idk what's going on.

Don't have the edge anymore, but have you tried setting NR/LTE in *#*#INFO#*#*? Worked when I had boost att

Thanks for the reply. I just saw this and gave it a try. For some reason it still doesn't work for me so I think it's a Red Pocket Mobile GSMA issue or maybe with at&t themselves. But at least it was something else to try out, that I didn't know about yet.

I have an unlocked TCL stylus that I use for work. this tcl works on att but it only does it on LTE, ATT has sent me a lot of messages notifying that they were going to update their network and that this model would no longer work on the network and they showed me a list of devices... it's been a while 2 months and now the tcl has 5g, wifi calls and all services. I don't understand !

I don't know if by now you found the answer to your issue, but I was in the same boat with Red Pocket GSM-A and no 5G on Edge 2021.
After trying all sorts of things and being on customer service with Red Pocket regarding this, I received a new sim from them, still nothing when finally, I decided to pay for a new sim and I switched to GSM-T (T-mobile): boom, right away I got 5G!
Conclusion: it's ATT blocking 5g on "uncertified" devices...

Well now that's interesting. I'll have to see if I can get t hem to do the same. Or at least switch when it runs out. Thanks!

Just wanted to post back on this in case anyone else has the issue I did. I get 5G just fine now via Tello (Tmobile based MVNO). It was the network or carrier's problem before (Red Pocket Mobile on At&t) but I suspect the carrier was the issue much more than network.

I used to be with AT&T with limited data. When I bought my unlocked Edge (2021), AT&T would not let it run on 5G unless I upgrade my plan to their more expensive offer. So I switched to T-Mobile and now my bill is lower than with AT&T, and I get unlimited data.

I don't know why I stayed for almost 20 years with AT&T and didn't bother checking what the competition offers.
