Flash via stock or custom recovery?

Ok am I waking a dead thread which I shouldn't?
Are the zip files from OP to be flashed via Stock or custom recovery?
I can't spot either of the words signed zip or flash via CWM.

When I try to root my S3 (i9300) with odin, it says "pass". So the root should be successfull, however when I reboot my phone into recovery, cmw isn't installed.

I used odin v3.04 and the latest CMW touch from this topic.

What is exactly the /sdcard that CWM shows us? I'm trying to leave a file there so a script will read it but it says it cannot find it... even though I can see it with root browser.

EDIT: it's on /data/media and the actual internal storage you see through file manager is on /data/media/0.

yes,i will continue posting updates if there´s a new CWM version available for SGS3 ( + Nexus 4 & 5 )

Good! I like CWM, so far as I tried is the recovery that mostly suits my phone :good:

Also, what is the difference between the newly updated CWM and the Philz Touch, which is based on CWM?

better check philz thread for the changes... i tried his recovery once, it works fine, he adds some more functions, menus, goodies, etc, but i honestly don´t really need so many options, so i´ll stick to stock CWM, it fits my needs ;)

Hi,

I am currently running CM 10.2 and CWM 6.0.3.2 from this Thread:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1719744

I wonder how i can update to the newest (this) version. Is it possible to just flash the newest Version via Odin? Or is it better to copy the the file to /sdcard and "update" via CWM itself? Thanks in advance.

There is another issue. But maybe this is the wrong Thread:
My ROM Manager says im running CWM 5.x.x.x. I wonder why, since my current CWM is 6.0.3.2. Maybe its not recognized correctly by the ROM Manager?

simply flash cwm 6.0.4.7. zip in recovery, no need for odin :)

yes, ROM manager sometimes doesn´t recognize correct version ...

Thanks for the zip.
Also don't use rom manager on Sammy devices as you could possibly brick or loose recovery. Reason why it's not recognizing the correct cwm version is because it doesn't work properly.
