What you will have to do is download the adb and fastboot drivers for your pc and be sure to fully back up your sd or you will loose all your photos here is a way to so so

Download this : ADB & Fastboot Drivers

Ok from here install that then do this and also ps your sd card will be formatted thats why i said you will loose your data and back it up

Open cmd.exe then do this and be sure that you have your phone in debugging mode

1.
Code:
adb shell

2.
Code:
sm set-force-adoptable true

3.
Code:
sm partition disk:179,64 private

4
Code:
sm set-force-adoptable false

5
Code:
sm list-volumes all

Done now move anything :D adoptable storage now available

Any Version of windows should work from xp and above if i am correct

Saw that we could do this in other threads but they weren't simplified like this one so thanks. I did this on my VM stylo, i was freaking out when it hanged on the VM logo during the reboot but i let it sit and it started up just fine. I really dont see how much different this is compared to traditional external sd. In Storage and usb you have Internal and SD Card. When installing apps they do not automatically install to the sd. You move files to the sd card the same way with this fix so i fail to see how this is a benefit. I did the migrate data feature but it didnt really migrate anything as my 3rd party apps are still on the internal, and yet in the app's settings i can transfer them to sd. Only upside is that i got an error before i did this when i tried to move apps to the sd it said "could not move storage is full" when i had a 64gb sd card installed. That error is gone now i can move more apps and the cost of having my sd card encrypted to the phone.
Got this error while putting in the codes, i ignored it and put in the next line of code and sure enough the process worked.
[email protected]:/ $ sm partition disk:179,64 private
Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: Thread Binder_A gave up waiting for partitionPrivate after 180000ms

OK so I've installed adb correctly, when I open up cmd and type adb devices, my device is being recognized. She I enter the above ad shell commands they all seem to go through fine but when I try to move apps to SD card there s no option to move them. Am I doing something wrong? (I'm using windows 10 BTW)

Edit: so I was curios and pressed the format SD card button, which gives me the option to format as portable storage so I assume I've done it correctly. My question is, what is the point of this if I can move ALL apps to SD card?

These commands are for which directory?
Is it possible to partition the SD card, and re-format only one partition this way?
Thanks

"error: device '(null)' not found"
same thing after re-installing adb/driver.
and *daemon started successfully" after 'cmd.exe'.

de-bug enabled, MTP selected.

Edit 2:
Re-checked all MTP, de-bugging settings,
re-started adb, drivers- shows 'Google', finish.
still get "error: device '(null)' not found" after 'adb shell'.
Tried 'adb devices', no devices listed.

Which PC drivers should I use? Haven't upgraded yet to mm, but if I do, I'd like to be sure of this. I'm on the 3.14 version in Windows 10. I'm somewhat familiar with using adb so this is great, having this workaround. Thanks. :)

I was having the same issue. Here is what I did w/ win7, also installed the android sdk while I was troubleshooting.

Connect phone via usb w/ debug mode enabled.
Then access device manager by going to start>right click my computer, properties, devier manager.
Then you should see a 1 or 2 devices with yellow triangles with ! in the center.
I don't remember the exact name for what we're looking for. I had 2 devices show up, one of them might be for a device I haven't setup after a recent format named universal serial bus controller.
Right click whichever you think is the one, update driver, browse my computer for driver software, let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, double click show all devices, under manufacturer locate google inc, finally select android adb interface. If everything works, should see Android device as a sublisting of your computer. You'll find Android ADB interface inside it when expanded.

After that, the adb shell command took first time. Hope this helps get you in the right direction if not solve the problem.

This did get my stylo setup with sd as pseudo internal mem. Thanks.

Would you mind telling us how you bricked in MM? I haven't heard of anyone being able to recover a brick in MM, but I have heard of 3 MM bricks that sent them to LG and got them back quick with MM, all with no questions asked

I know..off topic. But the thread i was posting in."untouched 6.0 for boost stylo" is dead and wanted every one to know...root confirmed. I have screen shot of root checker.just trying to figure out how to post it. Basically keep running kingroot. If it reboots it didnt work. It will say it failed only. When you get the root failed msg, close app and then reopen. It will ask for permission to fix a few things..grant it. Boom rooted. About to try supersu me when i get off work.

Ok. I am 63 years old got my MIS degree in 1985 when computers were the size of 3 stacked coffins, everything was saved nightly on big spools of tape and computer specialists had to do all the programming in special languages & the Microsoft revolution had not occurred, so be gentle. Finally got a smart phone the LG Stylo from Boost, that said it could store up to 32 GB on an SD card, so bought one AND updated to Android 6.0, then learned nothing but photos that take up little space could be stored with Marshmellow. I do not understand the discussion on this site I was directed to on YouTube to allow saving to the SD card using my PC (???) and today I got an upgrade on my phone I allowed LS770ZV8_06_LS770ZV9_03_update.z.... Does anyone know what that upgrade is and will it address finally being able to use my 32GB SD card to take on some of the 8.0 storage limits rapidly being approached by my phone?
LG determined they didn't want to use the android Marshmallow exclusive feature, adoptable storage on any of their phones flagship to cheap phones. When the MM os is installed, with mandatory bloat, it is more than 4gb in your 8gb system. When you fill up you internal storage the os saves some space for system upgrades. So even when you move a few apps to the sd card, the os will stop allowing you to move apps before the 8gb is full, It happened to me at 6.5 gb full, and it will tell you the sd card is full when it is almost empty. This is where adoptable storage comes in. Because adoptable storage encrypts your sd card to not be read outside the phone, if you have an inferior sd card, apps might lag, or if your card craps out, you are S.O.L. because the card can only be read in the phone. You might lose too much data. So LG didn't want the hassle, and disabled adoptable storage. This thread is devoted to enabling adoptable and you can make use most of your sd card. The trade offs I've stated, but the limitations of not using adoptable are worse.
You just follow the 1st post, there is a small script program that will install the bare minimum Android sdk in a folder on you windows c:/ drive, and it will install the android phone drivers for your phone. You need to go to your phone to the settings general page to the about phone, then go to the software info lines, press that, then go to the software info line and that will open up and you press the build number line 7 times, and it will say you are now a developer. Then you page back to general settings, and you will have a new entry above" about phone" called "Developer Options" go in there and check usb debugging and if you want check stay awake in the section above( for the time being) and the phone won't time out on you. then you plug in the phone to you pc, and accept any permission it asks about the phone connecting to the pc. Then you go to the c:/ drive and hover the mouse cursor over the abd file folder and right click and choose "open command window here"
From there put in the commands from the post on the first page into the windows command prompt you opened earlier. That will get you where you need to be, it works and you can always watch the videos and ask questions here again, Good Luck! P.S. remember to go to the developers options page in general phone settings and uncheck the stay awake box, you can keep the usb debugging box checked it's not a big deal

I foolishly rebooted, now I can't duplicate the temp root. But I do feel the further deployment of MM will bring about a permanent root. They have that unlocked bootloader on t-mobile and I bet that's why they don't have MM yet.
Its actually happened to me a few times. You will get it again.
Also id like to apologize to the op..wasnt trying to hijack your thread. Just wanted people on an active thread to know.
